We had visited Sail Loft previously, but never tried the menu; very glad that we did! The booking system is efficient, tables well spaced and the atmosphere is calm -with the added bonus of lovely river views. My vegan meal was delicious- chagrilled broccoli, dates...and quinoa, perfectly cooked. My daughter enjoyed her beefburger also, so well cooked and presented. The setting here is lovely- river views and a really nice atmosphere- perfect for an autumn afternoon.More

We booked based on the menu online. I checked again on the day of the booking and confirmed the menu. When we arrived the menu was 100% different across all of the courses and based on the options, we wouldn’t have come here. Only one...vegetarian main which I couldn’t have due to dietary restrictions, so I ordered from the kids menu which is fine. The Mac and cheese with slow roasted tomatoes arrived and was like slop. Watery flavourless sauce with lukewarm overcooked pasta. I wouldn’t feed this to my dog let alone my child. The lemon tart with sorbet was also tasteless once you get over the bitter sharpness. My bf didn’t finish it. The cocktail menu is extremely small with half being obscure, surprising for a restaurant with such a nice looking bar. This place is a classic example of looking good but not delivering. The only saving grace was the staff and the impressive covid measures in place. Will not be eating here again or recommending.More

Had lunch here recently. Great menu, Good choice of beer. Prices on the high side for drinks but I guess you pay for the view. Table service only due to covid. We were well looked after

Popped in here bout 5pm on Sunday, place was steady away, lots of staff around and no problem ordering drink either via app or with staff. Prosecco seemed flat in the apperol spritz and we were told table was booked for 7pm but walked back...past 60 minutes later and it was still empty and biggest bugbear was must of seen 8 couples turned away as fully booked yet upstairs area sat empty and closed down. Given how tough hospitality industry is at present seems pretty short sighted to meMore

After a really busy day we went here as we’d had a drink before and loved the view. Again today I can absolutely say the same. A perfect placement for a restaurant with polite front of house staff. But unfortunately it’s where it ends. My...husband had a T bone steak at £31. He said it was literally the worst steak he’d eaten ever. It was not cooked to how he asked but also it was a very cheap piece of meat chewy and just not great. My granddaughter ordered a pasta dish that she took one bite and said I’m not eating that it’s really awful. The chips were really not that nice in taste. Shame as they have one of the best venues but have not got the best food. I would go back here for a drink but not to eat.More

Can’t beat the view over the River Thames. Food is standard pub fayre. A pint of draft pale ale cost £6.50 - the most I have ever paid. Definitely overpriced. Service is included in the bill. I think it should 10% not 15%. Good COVID...awareness.More

We live in Greenwich and regularly visit The Sail Loft. We love the location and in the summer, it’s great to sit with a view of the water and London skyline. However, the past three times we’ve been, the staff have been unhelpful and rude....Last weekend was the worst. We were seated and strictly told not to stand up unless we were going to the toilet (fair enough, it’s great to see they’re doing everything they can to meet social distancing!). We were also told there was no app to order on and it would still be table service. Once sat down, after a few minutes, we tried to get the waitress’ attention to order some drinks. As she walked over to us, we smiled and said hello. When she arrived at the table, she snapped, ‘yes I saw you, patience is a virtue’. Friendly. She proceeded to be quite rude to us throughout our visit, huffing and eye rolling. When visiting other pubs in the local area, they’ve all instructed us to take the drinks off the tray ourselves to avoid transmission of COVID. When she bought our drinks over, we went to take them off, to which she shouted at my Mum, ‘NO! We have strict rules that I must respect. You shouldn’t take it off the tray, I should.’ So much so that my Mum sat back quickly, like a school girl who had just been shouted at. It was completely unacceptable. I think we will head towards the Trafalgar next time!More

This was my first visit and I’m pleased to find a good bar with great views over the Thames. They have good virus controls in place and there is table service only. I’d suggest booking if you want a table outside. The young lady servicing...us was very busy but still gave us efficient and great service. The food menu is standard pub grub, burger, fish and chips etc. I had the fish which was good enough. One if our party had the calamari, which I tried, and was cooked very well. The food prices are reasonable and the drink prices reflect an upmarket bar in a busy area overlooking the Thames. I’d definitely recommend.More

I came here with my fiancé on a scorching hot Friday for our first post lockdown meal out. They have good control measures in place - hand sanitiser, a one-way system and the new table-only ordering is great (I’ve personally never been a fan of...having to queue at the bar for drinks). We pre-booked a table on the terrace which was an added bonus as many pubs & restaurants in Greenwich don’t allow you to pre-book tables outside. We live locally and have been to the Sail Loft many times. As always it had good service, a nice selection of drinks and lovely views over the Thames. However, the food was disappointing. The menu has essentially been reduced to burgers, fish & chips and a few other unoriginal pub basics. Which was annoying because the menu on the website had a lot more choice. We both went for the burger and didn’t particularly enjoy it - mine was really soggy at the bottom because of the pickles. All in all, I’d recommend the Sail Loft for drinks but if you’re looking for food I’d suggest going elsewhere.More
