Everything from begging until end of the time being was more then perfect....I made booking almost last minute...even the time hosttes found the table for us fast..when...we show up in the "Sowa Restaurant " we meet smile, welcome greeting and waiterees assist with us to the table..nothing to add so far to say ,,I feel like home" Menu was very clear, simple and elegant .....order was taken promptly...almost all the drinks was served straightaway. Starters we can describe only one way ,delicious ...chicken soup brealint, excellent balance of flavours....beef tartare the best I ever ever eat just malted down in my mouth....main course they are excellent...service spot on....the all members of staff professional and the spirit of this place and overwhelming hospitality .More
We enjoyed all their food, from starter to desert. Highlight was cakes ! Recommend cauliflower soup too. Nice atmosphere and service.
It’s a lovely place for lunch or dinner. The food really good. However couple times I felt like I am stupid because staff keep talking with me in polish and I am not polish ….I would prefer that staff will great customer and talk in...English language with customers not in polish language as not very customer polish.More
I am writing this review with regrets, as the food that was served to us was cold, too salty, looked as if it was pre-made and heated up. Presentation of the potato pancake with the beef stew wasn’t great and everything melted to one on...the plate. It was a disappointing experience, as we do enjoy Polish cousins. Very friendly and attentive staff.More
If you order freshly squeezed OJ l, it comes in very small glasses, less than half of the typical water glass.
We visited Sowa a few weeks ago. The place was very nice, busy and welcoming and the staff very friendly and attentive. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The goose leg with red cabbage and gnocchi were excellent. The wild mushrooms baked...with cheese were very good too. The wild boar pierogi filling was very good, although the dough was a bit too thick, and there was not enough mushroom sauce on top. The black forest cube with cherry was light and delicious. On the other hand, the doughnut was disappointing, there was very little jam inside, and it was very dry. It would be good if there was more consistency in terms of food, but overall a very pleasant visit.More
It is difficult not to find anything but praise for this restaurant. The staff are beyond helpful and very attentive. The food is of a very high standard indeed and beautifully presented. I have had a few meals at Sowa previously and have yet to...have a bad experience. To find a consistently good restaurant is not always easy but here is the perfect example of beautifully run restaurant. As well as the food, the cakes are sensational and beautifully presented too. It is very hard to make a selection from the vast array of options available. All in all, a must visit for anyone in Ealing. My only issue is that i live too far away to make it a regular haunt ! DziękujęMore
This restaurant definitely met the mark - the service was very good with friendly and attentive staff members, the food was delicious and excellently presented! I would definitely recommend this to those who like polish cuisine or would like to try It, definitely would come...back again! 😊More
We haven't been here since before Covid and wanted to try it with a friend. I shared goose stuffed dumplings in a truffle sauce for a starter before having veal stuffed cabbage leaves and cake from the patisserie with coffee. My wife had the rump...steak. The food was delicious and this service very attentive. They also seemed to take Covid seriously. Including a glass of wine and water the bill came to about £40 per head which is reasonable for the excellent quality.More
I went into the patisserie for cakes and was told that the restaurant chefs had prepared takeaway boxes so I bought fried fish with sauteed potato and vegetables plus a lightly fried stuffed chicken breast served again with sauteed potato and unfortunately bacon which I...don't eat so this had to be thrown away. I also got a coleslaw / saurkraut salad, tomato soup and sweet croissant for each main dish at a price of £10 per meal. The fish, chicken and salads were delicious. I haven't tried the soup / croissant yet.More
To put it bluntly they were very coarse when dealing with us and racist. Such backward minded people shouldn’t be working in a place like London where it is so multicultural. I am from a mixed background and love learning about different cultures, food and...traditions. It was my sisters birthday and with covid and everything that’s happening I thought it would be nice to get out of the house and try this nearby place. I was excited to try Sowa as it seemed really elegant and inviting. However, to my dismay it was anything but welcoming. I was cut off mid sentence when making my order to someone who was stood behind me in the queue (was not even a customer as he left the shop after their conversation which lasted a good few minutes). I let it slide trying not to think too much of it. I asked the waitress kindly if she could assist me in letting me know which cakes did not contain alcohol- oh! But it seemed a pain for her, she looked a bit angry and had an expression on her face that said why are you doing here? I started asking myself that very question! But I continued my order and sat down to join my family. We were the only ones there at first, soon after us it started getting busy. I noticed that everyone had been served (like 4 or 5 tables) but we hadn’t even been given our hot drinks yet. I looked around and instantly got another staff members attention. She asked me if I needed any help, I replied saying that it want help I needed, I just wanted to get served, questioned why it was taking so long when we were the only customers in the restaurant and so many tables have been served despite them arriving after us. The lady apologised and immediately went to go and see what was happening. So i thought great, shouldn’t be long now. How wrong was I! Instead of getting my order sorted she was serving new customers. Filled with disappointment and disgust at the lack of service we requested a refund as nothing had even been prepared for our table, even after making the remark that we had been waiting a very long time. We left with a refund of course but no apology whatsoever from the staff.More
We love this restaurant and went for lunch to support local establishments during Covid. The food was great BUT Sowa’s attention to keeping diners safe was extremely poor. Issues included - no hand sanitiser on entering - no temperature check or self declaration - waitresses...wearing masks under their chin - and worst of all, being seated less than 8 inches from the next table (I know, I should just have turned around and left) There were no screens and certainly no effort to follow social distancing guidance. It’s a real shame given the food is good, Ealing needs decent restaurants and the local pubs are being forced to spend £000’s on Covid precautions. Now I am home, I am pretty annoyed with myself for not causing a fuss. I’ll decide on Sunday whether to drop local trading standards a complaint since there has to be consistent rules for everyone. And Sowa appear to be breaching most of them. What a shame...More
The tartar is one of the best I’ve eaten. The goose is amazing and the wild boar stew is a must!! The dishes are really well presented and the care that is put into the food is obvious. The cakes follow the same quality level....And on top of that, really good service!More
The restaurant has lovely decor and atmosphere, one side is a restaurant whilst the other is an open bakery. I ordered the meat pierogi and they came as a generous portion size and filling. Flavoursome and good value for money.
