Total gamble in choosing this place, but it paid off big. Palek Ghost, chicken tikka Marsala, and chicken korma. Saffron rice and naan 3 ways. Very authentic and out the door for under £35 for 3 people? Would definitely come back.

First venture onto brick lane and ended up in saffron after some very intense haggling. We (group of 4) were offered a £10 menu including starter, main, rice and naan. Plus 2 free bottles of wine. Wine was awful so we opted for a beer and it came in a 1/3 of a pint. Curry was ok and service good.... More

Visited saffron with my friends, they had parking space which was brilliant For starter we ordered the pani puri, chillie paneer and tikka salmon The pani puri was ok not too impressed, the chillie paneer was really tasty but the portion was really large however the salmon was amazing perfectly cooked and the spice was spot on For mains we... We planned to end up in Brick Lane for lunch and by the time we got there we were cold and ready to eat. Difficult to determine a Google restaurant (forgot to research on TripAdvisor before we went out) so we just went with the first one we were invited into (they touted for business outside). Decor was not brilliant... More

OK, this is how it works. The tout will get you off the street with the promise of £15 a head with 1 free beer, starter, main, rice and side. They all do this, it's how they operate. What separates them like any other restaurant is the food. The food here is excellent, we got quoted the above deal for... More

Offered 2 free drinks each plus 20% off bill. Family of 5 went for birthday. Got in there and only allowed wine, beer or soft drink. All of which were watered down. Curry all tasted the same, baby puke and rice came to £12 for 3 portions. Which I knocked down price. Meat certainly wasn't decent quality. Sides all oily.... More

My partner and I had dinner here the other night after completing the Jack the Ripper tour. We asked the guide which was the best place and he recommended this one. We thought the food was great and the staff were very friendly and service was good the only thing that we thought wasn't good about the experience was the... More

Eaten here for many years. Owner has not changed for 15 years and although decoration wise it could do with a refresh, it's cosy and most importantly has excellent food and staff are really nice. They have some fantastic fish curry's which is a Bangladesh speciality but all the food is lovely. With two large beers, starter and main never... More

Thought I'd pop in for a curry even though it was empty. Staff didn't seem verb motivated to serve me however and considering the place was empty I still had to ask someone to actually come and take my order! The chicken chat starter was Luke warm and the consistency of the chicken was weird. Not sure whether the meat... More

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
