Great wine selection, some food, and a unique location to bring your friends and enjoy a glass of wine at candle light in the middle of the afternoon.

Just shared a bottle of wine with a friend. Excellent location well tucked away. Buzzing but very friendly and welcoming. Will return. Wide selection of food and wines. Mind your head!

After hearing about Gordon's we decided to visit while on our holidays, an easy location to get to and as expected upon our arrival it was very busy and cramped inside but none the less the vibe and atmosphere was very lively and intimate. We got a bottle of wine and stood at wine barrel outside enjoying the noise and... More

We visited for a quick pre-lunch drink and were chuffed to get a table in the wonderfully atmospheric cellar interior. We enjoyed 3 house glasses of port and a lovely fruity glass of Argentinian Malbec which was very reasonably priced. A must visit if in London and although we didn't eat this visit we have before and the food is... More

The Dickensian cellar experience, with candle-blackened ceilings and rickety furniture is a must for anyone without a tendency to claustrophobia. Excellent wine-list and accompanying snackery, I definitely recommend this place as somewhere a little different to enjoy a wine with friends. It has become increasing packed in recent years (if that were indeed possible) so come early evening (or hover... More

Set in historic wine cellar. Gordon's wine cellar has good range of reasonably priced but high quality wines. We enjoyed with some simple but tasty food. An almost village shop style cheese board with Parma ham. It's rustic but still first class. Highly recommended... trouble is you either get a seat or you don't. This does mean that the place... Such a unique experience. Delicious cheese and beautiful wine. We came for a quick nightcap during our stay at Charing Cross Amba hotel just up the street. Must see!

Kinda don't want to rate it for fear more people might go. Great place for a summer date. Simple and cheerful.

Our trip to London was to meet up with our English friends and experience something new for both couples. This out of the way place was underground and a spur of an old tube station not in use anymore. During WWII, it was part of a shelter from bombing by German bombs. It is now a wine bar, and food... This is a really nice wine bar with a huge selection of wines to choose from. The interior is absolutely lovely, very 'aged' with lots of character! Very nice place to meet friends and if you want to be adventurous try out some different wines from the extensive menu, or jut stick to your favourites.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
