The Ninth is a restaurant by London-based chef Jun Tanaka. Located on Charlotte street in the heart of London’s buzzy Fitzrovia neighbourhood, the contemporary, yet warm and inviting 90-seater restaurant offers up simple but refined French Mediterranean-style dishes, all made for sharing. The a la carte menu – available at lunch and dinner – focuses on the finest seasonal produce and vibrant, honest flavours. Specialties include house-cured meats and fish, robust French classics with Jun’s signature fresh twist, and lovingly thought-out vegetable dishes that are more than just ‘sides’.
We had been wanting to go to the ninth for a long time after hearing great reviews. It surpassed all expectations. We were given the booth at the back, perfect for our group of 5. We ended up ordering nearly the whole menu between us...More
My boyfriend had researched some restaurants for us to go to and this one came up.
The reviews were good and we loved the sound of the food so he booked it.
To put it simply... it exceeded our expectations.
The food was amazing!!! Absolutely...More
Booked On a whim for a post-Christmas meal and had a lovely time. Not a part of London that we usually visit, but was well worth the trip. My husband particularly liked the salted beef cheek and the oxtail croquette. Having said that, everything we...More
Came here with my friends for dinner and was warmly welcomed. The food we ordered was delicious, the oysters i wasn’t so sure on but everything else was good. I’ll definitely be back to try other dishes in the future.
I turned up as solo diner at about 6:45pm without booking and they were very accommodating and welcoming.
I asked to try the house red which was Ok... but I opted for the twice the price Pinot Noir which was lovely.
I ordered the roast...More
I went here in February with my daughter and son-in-law for a Saturday lunch. Wasn't quite sure of how the sharing plates worked when I was reading the reviews but it is such a refreshing way to eat in a Michelin restaurant. We ordered some...More
We had our reservations as we enter The Ninth and there were no other diners in the room. We were seated on the first floor and the patrons who cam after us all went upstairs. I wondered if there was so ethi g we should...More
On one of my now infrequent solo business trips to London
Chose this place via TA as it was quite close to where I was having meetings
Very enjoyable lunch
Oysters - good, bit more of a kick needed for me, but really interesting
We were surprised by the lack of comfort at the table, we were sat at a round one, and it was quite small for 4 persons.
The food was very good, excellent balance of ingredients and high quality. However, we were shocked by the quantity,...More
I had read a positive review on a reliable paper (could it have been the Sunday Times?), so decided to celebrate my partner's birthday with our closest friends here. Excellent choice under all viewpoints. Small, intimate, with soft lighting, and modern interiors; the service was...More
This sophisticated and sociable slice of Central London is a shopper’s paradise, offering the latest fashions, gadgets, and souvenirs. Fitzrovia is conveniently located between the major retail thoroughfares of Regent Street to the west and Tottenham Court Road to the east, with a handful of well connected Tube stations dotted around the area for easy transport. This neighborhood is a favorite
among foodies as well, with an impressive number of quality restaurants, pubs, cafes and food shops vying for your patronage – especially along Charlotte Street and near Goodge Street Station.

Hope you are well. For a table of 4, I will recommend around 12 dishes in total, couple of snacks, 3-4 starters, 3 mains with vegetables and then desserts. In terms of prices it is always varies if you take the most expensive items or not, will be the same with the wines.
Hope this is help.
Looking forward to see you soon.
