Cacio & Pepe
Review
About
On the ground floor a large bench with white mosaic and stools, where you can have a set menu ( lunch and dinner until 5 pm), a bar menu and the menu of the restaurant or just a drink. Tables outside. Downstairs a very cozy restaurant, as at home, with the possibility of a private area. Soft music. The kitchen close Monday to Thursday at 10:30 pm, Friday and Saturday at 11:00 pm and Sunday at 10:00 pm. In this moment of lockdown, as soon as possible, we start with Takeaway, ordering by phone and by e-mail.

We came with our son on a Sunday night, and although the place was pretty full the service was cheerful and efficient, the food simple and delicious. We all had pasta dishes, with lovely bread and a fresh salad and a bottle of Valpolicella - I loved the warm and lively atmosphere. Note that to sit in a group round a table, you have to go downstairs to their roomy and comfortable dining area. Upstairs they have bar seating with the full menu, or you can sit outside. We've been in Pimlico three years and never tried this place, perhaps because what you see from the outside is the bar area. Now we know how nice the downstairs dining area is, we will definitely be going back.

Friendly space and with nice people. It has a small terrace, but eating at the counter was also a pleasant experience.
They didn't have what the kids wanted on the menu, but it wasn't a problem and they immediately asked the boss if they could make Bologna spaghetti and of course they did, because they know what service is.
The risotto was very good.

We called here just as they were finishing lunch service and although there was only 15 minutes to go before they closed we were warmly invited in and made to feel very welcome.
The setting is first class and a great soundtrack made the whole ambiance brilliant.
We shared a meat platter as a starter and then a couple of dishes for our main…gnocchi and an aubergine baked, all of which was excellent.
Service was outstanding and given where we were the price was extremely reasonable!
Highly recommended.
A big shout out to Sam and Riva

This restaurant is vegetarian unfriendly. I ordered a pasta that specifically did not have meat listed on it but when it came with meat, I immediately asked the waitress to get a different dish. The manager came out to inform me that “it was my mistake that I ordered a traditionally not-vegetarian dish” and that he would neither comp the meal nor bring me another meal to eat. I left hungry and unhappy; quite honestly, I have never had this experience at a restaurant before. I would not recommend this restaurant for the service alone- there are plenty of better quality Italian restaurants in London.

The worst food I have eaten. I ordered a Mozzarella served with asparagus, cherry tomatoes, orange and crispy ham salad ÂŁ16. What I was served was a bland buttata floating in oil with basil. A slither of ham and asparagus. See picture. Very disappointed

I'm sorry, but if you don't know what you ordered, the best is if you stay at home and make yourself a soup. It was not mozzarella, but burrata and not Buttata. FYI, she is soft inside and is good and very welcome for it. It was served on pesto cream and not oil.....Do you know what pesto is? Burrata served this way for ÂŁ16 is a gift to customers. Sometimes it's better to keep silent than to try to hurt others, you risk showing your ignorance.

Feel a little conflicted, it is a nice little restaurant, friendly welcome but food wasn’t fantastic. Ordered sea bass and calf liver. Portions were a little small and the service a bit patchy: the waitress
Didn’t understand how to communicate how the fish should be prepared. The basement dining area felt a bit cramped, it was very busy when I visited for an evening meal so many people enjoying the food. Also quite expensive for what it was , approx £270 for four people.

The best dining experience of our trip to London! The owners and staff are friendly, informative, and efficient. They provided the perfect delicious dinner in the coziest restaurant, taking the time to make us feel like friends. A truly unforgettable experience!

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and had a perfect couple of of hours from the warm greeting through to our final spoon of dessert.
The food was interesting and excellent. Generous seared crab for me and burrata for S were both very strong. My main of Beetroot Risotto was lovely. Finishing off with a very authentic Tiramisu.
Our Sicillian wine was recommended and a very good choice and we welcomed the chance to taste the recommended Chianti.
Service was attentive and relaxed. If you find yourself in Pimlico or anywhere around Victoria you should seek this place out.

We chose Cacio & Pepe based on proximity to Tate Britain - so glad we did. Sat outside the restaurant in the sunshine and had delicious octopus and the best risotto I've ever tasted. Lovely host gave us free champagne for our anniversary and recommended another wine at the same price when the bottle we chose wasn't available. Really enjoyable meal.

Hugely overpriced for very underwhelming food. Chose this restaurant based on Gluten Free options - which is merely one type of pasta (fusilli) - tasted shop bought dried rather than hand made fresh. Both dishes were barely luke warm. Small portions. Poor presentation.
When I said the dish was disappointing and cold - the restaurant staff weren’t interested. Merely intent on processing the bill.
If you aren’t genuinely keen to provide an excellent gluten free alternative then best not to bother!

Just stopped by after finding another Italian restaurant closed on a Sunday evening, and we were very fortunate. Dinner at Cacio & Pepe was our best meal during a four day stay in London. The presentations were special. My wife had the Pan Seared Sea Bass, her sister had a special Parmigiana Basket dish, and I had the Cavatelli and then a Tiramisu. Our server was very charming and helpful. Nice environment.

I travel a lot for work and I never had such a bad experience before. The waiter was extremely rude and inappropriate and the food we tried to order wasn’t available. We booked a table and were asked to have dinner at the bar instead. Unfriendly and unprofessional service. Way too expensive and not even authentic Italian staff.

My wife and I recently came to London after spending a week in Tuscany Italy. We had enjoyed very good food while we were there.
Tonight we took out some family members to a local Pimlico restaurant, Cacio and Pepe, for a shared dinner meal.
We were all extremely impressed with the entire experience. The decor and service were excellent but the entire meal from starters, main courses and desserts was perfect. Everything was spot on. We were both surprised and amazed at the quality of each dish.
We now have a favourite Italian restaurant in London.
Well done.

This is a very special place, not only for the amazing quality of food and drink, but the beautiful interaction between the staff and between the staff and the customer. We had 2 dinners here and will come back to London to have more. The food (the pastas, the meats, the appetizers and the deserts) not only tastes good, but looks beautiful! The wines are lovely and the venue is inviting.

Very bad experience. The food was very bad , cold and the service was pathetic . The female manager of the restaurant was continuously screaming at her staff, was very rude and was continuously banging the kitchen door with aggression and anger. It was such a unpleasant experience. We went with our 2 kids for dinner to have a nice meal in London but landed up so upset and disappointed. One of the worst experiences!

Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
