The tea was lukewarm not hot. It spoilt our experience. Used to be fantastic and so English. The staff did offer to replace it but by then it was too late - we had eaten our scones. Had to ask 3 times to get more milk

Our meal and drinks were very nice, I especially enjoyed the turbot. However it is expensive, For example £9.50 for 2 very small pieces of cheese and fruit and we had to ask for the crackers. The other problem is that it is busy so the service was very slow and the decor was a bit tired (especially the door... More

the six of us decided to go the the tea room at fortnum and mason for a nice break whilst shopping in covent garden. we were made to feel unwelcome and unworthy to sit at the white tablelothed table, we were informed that we would expect a wait but that a cup of tea and cake would be £48 per... Went for afternoon tea on saturday. Started off well but then the service was rubbish. They had a good choice for vegetarians which i was happy about. When i asked for another tea... they came back with half the tea pot with tea leafs which made the tea taste so bitter it was undrinkable. Was better when they first bought... More

Popped in for a quick lunch - great atmosphere, attentive staff and really good food. Don't let the casual dining appearance put you off, the food really is excellent and the Maitre De is one of the best. Enjoyed our long lunch very much.

Informal atmosphere combined with the standard Fortnum & Mason excellent service. Delicious food. Menu choices match the informality of the venue. Family friendly.

This restaurant is attractive with a view out over Jermyn Street through the window and over the sweet displays when you look in towards the shop. Everything is very high quality, as you would expect; nice napkins, good cutlery and crockery and the service is excellent. The food is lovely too, the ingredients are top notch and beautifully prepared and... More

A popular, busy and bustling traditional English restaurant with good service in a fairly relaxed style. This restaurant is good for grabbing a bite to eat when you are out shopping. It isn't suitable for romantic or business meal as it is too noisy. The food is nice, very tasty. I had smoked salmon to start, followed by roast beef... More

Visited for brunch on Saturday. The menu is quite limited and the venue is not as nice as I expected. We were disappointed that a refill of coffee was not provided considering the cost involved.

First trip to Fortnums and it didn't disappoint. We had cake, coffee and lemonade. Great service, great food and a really nice location within the store. We will be back!

Thank Alex S

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
