Best kept secret in Dartmouth Park

Every year the first Christmas card of the season arrives early in December from Monsoon. It includes a discount for a meal costing over £30. Every year we fail to spend enough to use the discount. A lot of things, including restaurant prices, have changed since covid so we are optimistic about next year. One of the reasons for the low prices is that Monsoon does not have a licence to serve alcohol. Luckily any kind of beer or wine is available two doors down. Apart from alcohol Monsoon has everything you need and the dishes are tasty and generous. If you ask the waiters will offer, very good, suggestions from the long and varied menu. The atmosphere in the small dining area is relaxed and comfortable. The staff are well-organised and the food arrives quickly while you watch the take-aways leaving the kitchen. Today we shared one meat and one vegetable dish, cucumber raita, rice, nann bread and poppadoms. We managed to achieve a bill of £33 but, sadly, the discount expired a long time ago.

A Flavorful Journey at Monsoon – A Must-Try

Monsoon at 24 York Rise is a must-visit Indian restaurant in Kentish Town! You’re greeted with a warm ambience and friendly staff when you walk in. The food is simply outstanding—each dish is crafted with authentic flavours and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend the Manchurian King Prawn, as it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The service is impeccable, making you feel valued and cared for throughout your meal. Plus, the prices are very reasonable for such high quality! I can’t wait to return to Monsoon for another incredible dining experience. If you're in the area and craving delicious Indian cuisine, this is the place to be!

What a find! Unbelievably tasty curries and very friendly staff. Go now. Really incredible and varied menu that hits all the right notes. Delicate spices, spicy delicacies, fresh and innovative recipes. Just go. You'll love it. And very reasonably priced for it's quality. Can't rate it highly enough. Cheers

Absolutely Disgusting

Absolutely disgusting food, customer service … so so rude and adamant that spending £50 for something like crap’ in a Tupperware box was ok & out right refused to re deliver most of our items that was drenched in floating oils & looked nothing like any Indian I have ever seen before. Said ‘next time we make it right’ This food was not fit to eat. After refusing to compromise I asked for a refund which was another blatant ‘NO’ I did end up getting part refund after a very long task !!! Bottom line is AVOID this restaurant at all costs Nasty nasty nasty vile place, people & FOOD !!!

Avoid if using Tastecard or Meercat meals!!!

We were out for a few drinks in highgate and looking to go for a curry. Seen decent reviews for here and as it was nearby decided to try. As it was on the meercat meals 2for1 we thought that a bonus. When we arrived there were 4 people in the restaurant who left shortly afterwards. When ordering we were told we could only order traditional dishes if using meercat. Not good as we both had chosen other dishes. Doesn't make sense as the dishes were all similar prices anyway. It basically rules out 80% of the menu. It defeats the purpose of offering discounts to get people in then having unsatisfied customers as they won't return. We've tried loads of places on the meercat and when it's good we return and some of them we visit regularly as we eat out 4/5 nights a week. Needless to say we won't be returning. Pity as the food was ok even if it was lacking in atmosphere and they were rushing us bringing out mains when we hadn't even finished our poppadoms. Think they were looking to close early as it was dead.

Having lived in North London for ten years I have finally found a good Indian restaurant and take away. Fantastic food - highly recommend the Sha-Coo-Tee and the Manchurian curries. Outstanding!

My wife and I came across this restaurant by default having booked into an Airbnb just around the corner. We’ve been on holiday here in the Uk for ten days and this is by far the best food we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying in that time. All we can say is just give the place a go. Great value and brilliant staff.

Great food lovely staff

Fantastic restaurant. This unlicensed gem is guaranteed to please. All the food I've had here has been brilliant and the fact that you bring your own alcohol if required means that a lower than usual bill is always a welcome surprise. Friends of mine from all over have enjoyed this restaurant including those from the curry mecca of Birmingham. It's unassuming charm keeps me coming back, in fact this review has made me hungry so i'm off to have some of their unrivalled Bhajis right now...
