£26 for a disgusting piece of flourless chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream, minute apple juice and a coffee - unbelievable. Was exhausted after a very hot day in London so decided to go in thinking this might be Harrods quality - oh boy was I wrong. To finish off, the service was appalling. Never again - it... More

Our second visit to the Parlour, and once again, it did not disappoint. The menu featured lots of lovely light options for an afternoon snack; in particular, the Welsh rarebit was delicious. With its pastel decor and a fun create-your-own ice cream menu, this is heaven for children. The gin and tonic sorbet is a treat for adults.

This is a great parlour if you enjoy ice creams with all sorts of toppings and the famous knicker bocker glory from time to time. For years it was a great place to have afternoon tea with lovely matching china and ornate silver teapots which were also sold in the store. Although the cakes were rather limited the scones were... This was unexpectedly not busy - so popped in for a sweet top up following a good breakfast and before a huge afternoon tea. There's always space for ice cream isn't there? My friend and I had a coupe of two scoops of ice cream - the unusual rose and violet, and cucumber. Extremely tasty. Our husbands decided on a... More

I am not sure that both Sandwich and Salad could have passed a Pret-a-Manger Culinary test. A Coronation Chicken hardly meriting a Crown and a salad consisting of a handful tired leaves and some rather dubious melon. Add coffee for two and you have to spend more than 30 GBP for a meal that tastes more of tourist trap than... More

Ok so first time to the famous and well know Fortnum and Masons The Parlour. A place my mum took me and my brother some 30 years ago!! I went with my 3 kids and my parents. Right here goes. The £12 Kickerbockerglory was medium in size and didn't represent value for money. The Coronation Chicken sandwich was tasty but... More

very naughty ice-cream lunch! Service was as expected - excellent and friendly. A little pricey maybe but worth every penny for a special treat.

An expensive cup of tea but well worth it for the ambiance and attentiveness of the staff, who look after you but don't make you feel uncomfortable. You are never rushed.

Fortnum & Masons is one of the stores I have to visit on every trip to London so I stock up on their cookies, teas, and jams to take back with me to Bahrain. After finishing our shopping, we usually pass by the Parlor to have an ice cream or one of the desserts. The place is nice, and the... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
