This is a great restaurant. Really rustic in a cafe type of vibe with real authentic Vietnamese food and drink. The best Vietnamese I've had outside of Vietnam.

Really great menu and amazing food. Fast and efficient service. The only negative is that we were sat at the back of the restaurant which lacks ambience compared to the front but it did not take away from the deliciousness of the actual food.

I stopped here for a casual catch up and was really pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly, professional and efficient. We didn't have starters as we really were pushed for time but between us we had the stir fry tofu and slow cooked lamb cubes with jasmine rice and both were freshly made to perfection. Will definitely be going back... More

I have to say that the food was great. I don't know about a green papaya in Kingsland Road but I do know the one on mare Street and the food is as good today as it was when it first opened many years ago. I marked it down to 4 stars as I don't like the decor as much... More

There is no sign outside ( maybe off being repaired) but we managed to find The Green Papaya which had been recommended to us as the best Vietnamese nosh around. Loved the ambiance with simple chairs and tables. The menu is not extensive but the food is quite authentic ( for Uk/London sourced ingredients) and absolutely delicious, washed down with a... More

Staff are great at Green Papaya. For tasty, quick, Vietnamese food it's a safe bet. Favourites on the menu, asparagus chicken, Thai Green curry, and the pho's are lovely.

Simple, modern and buzzy restaurant between Hackney Town Hall and the lively Broadway Market. They have a very good choice of Vietnamese food from pho, to bun to stir fries. Pho could do with a few more herbs and some dishes are OK but bland, but beef dishes, seafood and some vegetarian options are really good. Service is professional and... More
