A birthday celebration was initially diminished by poor service. We arrived on time but were expected to wait a further 30 minutes for a table. It took 40 minutes for the drinks to arrive. The staff appeared stretched and disorganised. After complaining, things changed rapidly. Service became attentive and prompt. The teppanyaki was enjoyable and well presented. At £65 per... More

The restaurant is downstairs and can be quite warm We were seated at the back of the restaurant , maybe because of the deal?! There was a set menu which was quite limited The chef came and put on a great show for us and even cracked a few corny jokes. The food was ok but was plenty of it... More

A group of 7 came here on a Friday night, It was great fun and they accommodated for an allergy to shell fish so they cooked everything then the shellfish last. Although my husband had got an allergy from the lobster, guess you don't know you have one until you try it. Everything was great, entertainment and food. Yes it... More

My Husband and I went to Benihana with his friends on a Groupon deal last night - yes we were 10 minutes late but we called twice to let the restaurant know. We were ushered downstairs and despite flagging with Manager and the hostess multiple times had to wait an HOUR AND A HALF for a table and ended up... More

Firstly the place looks great. Although after over an hour, of waiting to be even sat at a table, its appeal tends to wear off. Not only did I have to wait an hour to be seated, I had to wait another hour to be given food. I had to sit and watch everyone else of the table be cooked... More

I've been there with a GroupOn voucher with my wife, and really not worth the money. I've been in other tappanaki places but this was medium quality. The cook was nice and friendly, but missing the engagement typical of this food. The menu was just a cup of broth, steamed rice, some chicken and shrimps. Also too much salt was... More

Honestly this place is way overpriced for the quality of food on offer. I paid £57 for the mains of lobster tail and steak and to be honest it was a total waste of money. The lobster was just okay and the steak was overcooked and bland. In Berlin, me and my gf ordered a £50 steak and believe me... More

We chanced upon this restaurant and having checked the reviews booked via Open Table (thanks Tripadvisor!). On arrival you descend down a deeply carpeted staircase to a welcoming lady and a cloakroom, then you go further down some more steps into an open, cathedral like-space where someone shows you to your seats at one of several teppanyaki table grills. Ours... More

Description
Elegant Japanese styling and delicious fresh food await you at London's Benihana Restaurant.

Benihana is a favourite not only of tourists but of locals fresh from the nearby offices, relaxing with colleagues or indeed entertaining clients.

In keeping with the Benihana brand the chain began in New York way back in 1964, this means that this year, 2014 is our 50th anniversary.

This superb Japanese restaurant swaps the conventional kitchen for a central hibachi grill around which diners watch their food being prepared before their eyes.

Boasting a wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes traditionally cooked Benihana offers a unique Japanese dining experience not to be missed.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
