It's been a long time. So delighted to revisit this particular restaurant, across the pond. Setting, service & food were exceptional, just as they used to be. BRAVO to the owners & staff ! Had a wonderful evening, starting out at their amazing bar. Moved on to a round table ( the best), for a party of 6. Fabulous is all I... More

I was in London for the weekend and wanted to treat myself to a lovely meal. The concierge of my hotel suggested Scott's. It's so popular, you even have to have a reservation to sit at the bar, which is where I landed. I remember when I told the Concierge at my hotel I'd rather not sit at the bar,... More

We went for a Saturday lunch, very busy day the main course came out a bit slow but everything was amazing! Specially the monkfish cheek and filet of John Dory. Highly recommend!

There's not much to say about this well known restaurant apart from confirming that it does indeed live up to its reputation. The menu is extensive and all our courses were great, in particular the scallops and John Dory. On my next visit I'll certainly try the lobster thermidor! The service and ambience was discreet and attentive and the restaurant... More

Always atmospheric, and even the Eurotrash behave themselves here. Expertise apparent in food, drink, and service. Expensive but worth it.

It is a must to dine here while in london. The Docer sole is the best in the world, impossible to get anything better everywhere. Oysters are fresh, tastier and very well presented, dressed crab is amazing. Wines are varied and well selected. Without a doubt first class in all senses. A must.

This may be the most well known and longstanding sophisticated fish restaurant in London but I found the food underwhelming. The setting is certainly grand, very luxurious with lots of attentative staff. However, my octopus carpaccio was soggy, much too moist and the lemon sole was nothing much to write home about either despite being advertised as the dish of... More

Lunch with my daughter for a joint birthday celebration. We found the aircon too fierce as did the couple at the next table, asked twice for it to be turned down, my daughter was in the full blast and had neuralgia next day as a result, but overall the staff were very attentive. The food was excellent and we enjoyed... More

Description
Originally an oyster warehouse, Scott's has been serving up its legendary seafood since 1851. A conveniently short walk from Green Park and Bond Street tube stations, this Mayfair mainstay uses burgundy leather banquettes and subdued lighting to create an air of old-school elegance which reflects the restaurant's chic clientele. Designed by Martin Brudnizki and highlighted by the exquisite bar topped with onyx and finished in stingray skin, the revamped interior of Scott's still carries the 1960's glamour of yesteryear. Traditional fish and seafood dishes dominate the menu, although seasonal meat and game make an appearance. Atlantic Halibut, Dover Sole and Lobster have proven to be popular choices, and there is also a Roasted Shellfish platter for two to share. The famous oyster bar with its three-metre crustacean display offers a more relaxed dining area and there is also an art deco-style private dining room, ideal for canapé receptions, press launches and private celebrations.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
