What a treat this is. Scotts of Mayfair was a fantastic find. The food was beautiful and delicate, the fish was fresh and the cocktails were fantastic. I would say the only reason I knocked off a star was due to slightly lacking service at points, but I wouldn't let you put this off. This is a fantastic restaurant and... More

I recently dined at Scotts Restaurant in London. It features seafood, and it was some of the best that I've ever eaten. The decor is very classic, as is the service. The cocktails were excellent and there is an extensive wine list. I had the Dublin Bay Prawns and the baked cod. Both were delicious! There is an air of... More

This restaurant is not just stylish, sparkling fish-scale mosaic floor, glamorous seafood bar, and lots of gleaming glass, but the food is wonderful: Inventive seafood and old classic dishes. The service is impeccable but unstuffy, and the atmosphere is very "happening". Not cheap- but this is London at it's best.

This is a beautiful restaurant with a great menu if you like seafood. I was meeting friends whom I hadn't seen in years on a Tuesday night. The reservation had been made months in advance. When we arrived, they didn't have it in the book. I was embarrassed! But it turns out they had put it in on the wrong... More

Although the super fish of the day was sold out, we still could be very positive about the food as well as the service.

This restaurant is old school with lots of dark wood and bathrooms down a flight of stairs. Food was great with salmon (of course) and sea bass especially nice.

I booked a table as a surprise for my girlfriend on her birthday and i think we were both pleasantly surprised! We were seated on a lovely table and the waiter was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu and with us deciding what to have. We ended up having the seafood cocktail to start which is absolutely amazing, prawns,... More

True the location is in a posh neighbourhood....service was good, but the quality/taste of the food was average. Must say that the restaurant was packed & buzzing. I believe tables are hard to get, and a reservation is a must. The reputation & location seem to be what keeps this place buzzing. Certainly not the food in my opinion.

Oysters that taste as if they were scooped from the sea, freshest fish with luscious bearnaise sauce and timely but fast service. Expensive but it's packed-even on a random Wednesday evening. Book in advance. You won't regret it.

Originally an oyster warehouse, Scott's has been serving up its legendary seafood since 1851. A conveniently short walk from Green Park and Bond Street tube stations, this Mayfair mainstay uses burgundy leather banquettes and subdued lighting to create an air of old-school elegance which reflects the restaurant's chic clientele. Designed by Martin Brudnizki and highlighted by the exquisite bar topped with onyx and finished in stingray skin, the revamped interior of Scott's still carries the 1960's glamour of yesteryear. Traditional fish and seafood dishes dominate the menu, although seasonal meat and game make an appearance. Atlantic Halibut, Dover Sole and Lobster have proven to be popular choices, and there is also a Roasted Shellfish platter for two to share. The famous oyster bar with its three-metre crustacean display offers a more relaxed dining area and there is also an art deco-style private dining room, ideal for canapé receptions, press launches and private celebrations.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
