Booked in for lunch with my wife and son whilst on a day out shopping. First visit to this restaurant. It was superb, the food was exceptional and very well priced. The service was second to none and all the staff were very professional and knowledgeable. Will definitely return. Well done!!!!

My wife and I visited Coq d'Argent for my 30th birthday and I can truly say it was a wonderful evening. The staff were attentive, friendly and polite. We were concerned that it might be a bit snobby but this was not the case at all, a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was lovely; we ordered the chateaubriand to share... More

Had not been to the coq d'argent for a while and good to see it has changed very little. The food is still good and a nice buzz - during winter the outdoor roof top garden is out of use but great during the summer. Great location if you need to wine and dine some clients or business partners.

I went to Coq d'Argent for a catch up lunch with a friend. The weather was lovely so we had our glasses of champagne on the terrasse, transformed for the festive season into a very cosy winter wonderland with blankets and heaters, it was a great way to start our lunch and got our spirits in a relaxed mood. Having visited Coq d' Argent on two occasions in the last 4 weeks, I have to say that it is an absolutely wonderful establishment whether one is visiting for simply drinks or a full meal. The ambiance is so calm and pleasant and the service is very smooth, efficient and passionate. This feels so unusual with the location being the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the first two courses. Lovely crispy goats cheese parcel and a huge tender lamb shank, but the lime mohito tart was disappointing and had an odd after taste. Also very weak tea. However the staff were very pleasant and attentive (our waiter went to the trouble to personally make us some stronger tea)and the atmosphere and decor good.... More

Dear Julie F Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am happy you liked the atmosphere and surroundings. Your comments about the lime tart are noted. We have now moved on to much more wintery desserts, such as a gingerbread slice with Bourbon and pecan ice cream, and a hot chocolate fondant - hopefully you'll enjoy it more... More

Had a casual dinner with a friend here. Did their 3 course menu (it comes with a glass of champagne which they don't push, so make sure you ask for it). Service was ok. They try which is the important thing. But not quite up to the standards of excellent service. There is line between attentive but not intrusive, I... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
