We had a wonderful time at the restaurant. The food was up there with the best Indian I have had in London. We had a large table of 10 and the service was fast. The food is very reasonably priced and bring your own booze is always fun.

We went here after a recommendation. We ordered the dry meat & lamb daal main dishes. The flavour & tenderness of the lamb was amazing. Unfortunately didn't know it's a byo restaurant until we had arrived, so had to enjoy the food without a beer!

This is my third time visiting this restaurant and the food has yet to slip in quality. I always order the mixed grill, lamb chops, shish kebabs etc. It is so delicious especially the lamb chops! Also the peshwari naan, believe me you'll be left with your stomach begging for you to loosen your buttons. We had people in the... More

I went to tayyabs with friend for dinner. when we inquired about items in the menu we were told there were other customers waiting and they had no time to explain. We decided to order one dish to share tikka masala with one rice. When the billed arrived it turned out they charged us double as we shared the meal!... More

Amazing. All curries are good, my favourite dish is the lamb chops. The service fast. And really chip. It is always busy but I go always that I can. One of my favourite restaurants in London.

As this is a BYO restaurant and as there is a Tesco just round the corner this is the ideal place for a cheap boozy night out. The food is good but this is a very large restaurant and the dinners are packed in so it is more like a night at the football than a night at the ballet.... More

We booked for four of us a few weeks in advance for an early Saturday evening meal. Once we all arrived there was a brief wait to be show to our tables in a long line of others - don't expect separation from other diners. Thankfully we were near an open door as this kept the temperature comfortable. None of... More

I've been going here for over 15 years and have never got tired of it. the food is always fabulous, the meat (chicken tikka and lamb chops this time) is always cooked to perfection and they have delicious daily specials. today was king prawn korahi (how do you spell that?). Usually I would complain about not being able to get... More

I heard great things about this Resteraunt so set out to find it. It's well hidden and off the beaten track and undercover which is a good thing. Not far from Whitechapel station. The food was oozing quality and flavour and I highly recommend getting yourself down there to try it out!

Had dinner at Tayyabs along with my colleagues last month. It was house full even around 10:45 pm, somehow we managed to get a table. You are allowed to carry your own drinks. We ordered lamb chops, chicken keema, and dry meat along with rotis. All the dishes were mouth watering!! Dry meat was out of the world. Even dishes... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
