Have been going here for years and it has some truly yummy and delicious dishes to choose from including (if you are vegetarian or vegan like myself) some absolutely mouth watering tofu skewers, coconut rice, and aubergines in a chilli/onion base!! The dishes are absolutely bursting with flavour and you will be truly satisfied. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

I used to love this place. The food has become poor and bland since I visited last year. The service was poor too, It took half an hour to get our starters and drinks and the waitress even forgot one of our drinks which we had to wait till we finished our food. Really disappointed.

Food was great though it took ages...I found the staff unfriendly and cold...agree with a lot of the reviews here regarding bad customer service and feeling rushed...I went in with a buggy and a baby...mum's are vulnerable as it is..nobody helped me ...no one opened the door or helped when I was coming in or leaving...they pretended they didn't see...very... Authentic Malaysian food, flavourful, and good service in a cosy setting. They have a small kitchen and they do the best they can with what they've got.

My wife and I visited Satay House for dinner over the weekend (23rd July). Let's dive straight in. The location is great, just off Sussex Gardens and pretty near Paddington & Edgware Road underground stations. It's a lovely part of London, a quiet side street with a bit of old town charm! The food is pretty authentic if I say... More

I wanted to treat my mother-in-law, who is Malaysian, to Sunday lunch. Finding an authentic Malaysian restaurant in London is not easy so five of us set off to try our luck at the Satay House in Paddington. Parking was easy enough on a Sunday as the meters were free but I would imagine that parking would be difficult during... More

Food was very tasty although the portions are small. Service was very good, though we went at lunchtime so cannot comment on the dinner service (note previous reviews about poor service), and considerate. Small restaurant but clean and modern in style.

I arrived without a reservation in a busy lunch-time, with slight trepidation having read of the popularity of this restaurant. Staff were very welcoming however, and I did not have to wait too long for a table to become free. My request for Satay of both chicken and lamb was easily accepted, and proved to be a good choice, as... More

Super authentic cuisine with cheerful staff adding to my the dining experience. Just a short walk f on the Hilton Metropole can strongly recommend this as a must eat at restaurant. Full bar and competitive pricing makes this even more attractive

The food was delicious, we had the satay, nasi goreng, char kway teoy, lamb biryani. Really tasty Malaysian food and good portions so worth a visit if you're nearby. It's a small, nicely decorated restaurant between Edgware road and Paddington. What was surprising was the hit and miss service, although with a smile. Vegetarians note nearly all the 'veg' dishes... Description
For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.
