I have been to Satay house many times and was very impressed. This was my default place for good Malaysian food. This time though unfortunately it was different. I was here as part of a work dinner. We ordered our drinks and then had to ask twice for a waiter to take our order. Perhaps it was because we were... More

The food is authentic and the ambience is great. The mains are particularly good and filling. Definitely recommended.

Gorgeous, sophisticated food, beautifully presented, high quality and delicious. Upmarket in every way. We have been here a few times but more recently, when dropping by on the 'off chance' in the week, have found that the restaurant was not open so I suggest that you ring/book a table (upstairs seems more airy than below))

I visited Satay House because of the positive reviews and also because they accepted reservations. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the mains were delicious. However, they would not let us order until the time of our reservation which I thought was silly. Starters - Satay chicken - disappointing as I would've thought they would really nail this traditional... More

Good food and reasonable service. This is probably the best establishment selling Malaysian food in UK (as there is a lack of competitor out there).

Having never eaten Malaysian food before, we thought we'd give it a go whilst on a trip to London. The service was friendly and helpful and the food was very nice. It wasn't inexpensive and I'd have liked larger portions but all in all, we enjoyed it

Lovely to eat proper Malay food. You know it's good when loads of Malaysians are eating there! It was packed by 1930 so book ahead. Satays were good, chicken curry lovely. Roti Canai nice but not as crispy as Penang in Westfield.

Been a few times. Last visit was in August. We love the roti prata and the keow teow. Service us quite slow. It took 20 mins before we got our food but it wasn't that busy. Also the ten Tarik used to be great but doesn't taste authentic. Good portion size but the dhal with the prata is do little... More

For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.
