After staring at lots of menus outside various establishments, we saw the welcoming Xmas tree and lights at Maxwell's. My daughter likes very plain food without sauces so I asked the waiter if this was possible.." of course " he answered "not a problem" And so arrived her very large and nicely cooked half a chicken with fries and house... Lovely restaurant in a great location - just opposite Covent Garden Tube. American style with a great ambience. There was confusion with our booking as we were a large group and could not have the regular menu - staff were accommodating and able to assist us in being able to order what we wanted. The starter platter was excellent -... More

We visited on the first Sunday in December for a pre-theatre meal, and despite the restaurant being near empty at 12:00pm our table wasn't ready. After being seated our lunch orders were taken but at no point were we asked about drinks (a prompt was needed). The shared starter of nachos arrived quickly, and was quite nice; however the wait... Our first time visiting Maxwells and it was without a doubt amazing. The staff were so friendly and the food was to die for. We were visiting as family, me and my mum were visiting my auntie and uncle (who live in London) (they hadn't ever been to maxwells either!) We all had a great time. I ordered the baby... More

I used to live in Greater London and frequented Maxwell's regularly, so we managed to dive in there on a recent visit. Absolutely packed but we managed to bag an "order at the bar" table. Quick service and a great burger; all washed down with a mojito, and then off into the Xmas market throngs.

I first visited this restaurant in the early 80's and i swear it hasn't changed!! The only thing missing was the scampi and chips from the menu. We had a good night although space is limited to 2hrs per group and enjoyed reminiscing.

Went on a Sunday and chose off the Sunday lunch menu - two courses for £16. Had the chicken wings and pulled pork burger. Very delicious :) the burger wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be. It was lovely! They ask how you want the burger cooked and bring over wet wipes to wash your hands... More

Just had a really good English breakfast here. No grease and great unlimited filter coffee. If you enjoy 1960's/70's/80's music this is the place, not too loud to stifle conversation but loud enough to enjoy.

Visited this restaurant for an early evening meal. Even though it was a Sunday it was packed and seemed very popular with the younger generation. We had the two course special menu which was nice and portion size was good. We enjoyed the meal and would return if visiting Covent Garden again.

Have been to this restaurant many times over the past twenty years! Previously up in Hampstead, this used to be our family must visit restaurant in London. What a disappointment! Still a good menu, great surroundings and attentive staff, but meal was disappointing. Must be our age, because taste was greatly amiss since our last visit several years ago. Sorry... More
