Spontaneous decision to stop by for a meal. Staff were very friendly and immediately showed us to a table of our choice and showed us the Sunday set menu which for 3 courses for £33 in London is a bargain. Bread and butter included and...More

Great light room with views across London roofs to Trafalgar Square. Food was lovely, fresh, modern British. All beautifully presented. Vibrant colours and nice portions - not too much, but not stingy. Scallop was maybe 2 seconds underdone. We did not feel rushed despite time...More

Fine dining (simple menu but with very taste and fresh food!), served in a clean venue with amazing view over London and with great and professional staff. A must-go at least once when passing through London :)

The most important thing about a restaurant has got to be the food. Even if the view is London's most spectacular, if the food isn't good enough, it doesn't work. Fortunately, at the Portrait Restaurant in the National Portrait Gallery, everything works. The food is...More

The reason for coming to this restaurant is the view! You get to eat at the top of National portrait gallery overlooking Trafalgar square. So nice! The food is good, the service is very good so go for it!

Impossible to understand how the service could be so bad, even the spectacular view couldn't compensate. Do not waste your time on this restaurant, you will only be disappointed.

Whatever you where to visit the museum should be just fine. We were there weekday for dinner and most people were “business casual” or more dressy.

When you look at the website, there's the ability to reserve a table. Portrait is open this weekend. I suggest that you make reservations ASAP. Open daily 10:00-18:00. Open late Thursday and Friday until 21:00
