When we first arrived, the sound was deafening...the bar was quite busy, there were large tables assembled and there is no sound absorption to dull the sound. We took our chances and stayed, enjoying a glass of champagne at the bar whole a window table...More

The food is exceptional. The views are staggering. Why would you visit London and not stop here for brunch? You have to book in advance. Then visit the free BP Portrait Awards. It is our annual pilgrimage from Canada. Free wifi of course.

Very busy but the noise is astounding probably conversations bouncing off the glass windows and hard surfaces, the menu is not very inspiring and the prices are expensive, however it is packed out so I must be wrong

Nice views atop the Portrait Gallery, a nice welcome with professional, prompt and friendly staff. Set lunch good value and excellent quality, lovely chilled gazpacho soup and nice poached chicken - friends mackerel equally good and very healthy. Always recommend, probably my fourth visit.

Dining was excellent; no reservation needed. Food was good; staff was attentive and gracious. I was seated solo at a table by the windows. Never rushed, even though it was busy. I will return.

My friends and I went for lunch after visiting the gallery. The view and the restaurant itself were beautiful, the starter of gazpacho was delicious but unfortunately, it was downhill from there. The grilled mackerel was underdone, still reddish inside. The waiter took it back...More

To be honest, I don't know. I doubt the Portrait Restaurant is open on NYE, but the best way to find out would be to give them a call. All the best!!
