We arrived at the restaurant only 30min before their closing at 3pm but the staff still offered us a table. They recommended us chicken chettinad and creamy chicken curry. We liked both the dishes and will recommend this place for the authentic Indian food. The restaurant has a very nice interior and ambience.

We found this restaurant over TripAdvisor since there are so many Indian restaurants in town, this one stood out to us as its name is special, and it's Southern Indian Food. We made a reservation for Sunday lunch, it's a very clean restaurant, service was very great (Thanks Arif). Their Mango lassi is delicious, we ordered so many! Everything was... More

Since moving to the US 20 years ago, we seek out good Indian food when back in London. It's amazingly difficult to find these days which is a stark contrast to years ago with Indian restaurants on every street. We found this on Trip Advisor last year and we are delighted that we did. This is the reason we are... More

Food was very tasty. Not too spicy at all like we thought. There was a large party there when we were, which might account for the slow service. Waiters were friendly, just mixed up our order slightly and slow with drinks and silverware etc.

Arrived as first geest for the diner, we recieven a warm welcome. Are host mister Arif explained very well all different courses and proposed some specialties. The food came out quickly. Lovely to taste the freshness of the ingredients. Sometimes they tend to go a little to fast, but just indicate that you need some extra time in between courses... More

I had dinner here with my girlfriend. A welcoming nice restaurant where you can eat Indian food in London, enjoying a traditional atmosphere. Pleasant music, accurate service, tasty food according to the classic Indian brisk flavours. Let me suggest spicy dishes and fried bread, something you shouldn't miss while eating this kind of Indian. Just to sum up, I appreciated... More

Had the lunch special for £7.95 and it came with a mini dosa, three curries and rice. It was good value for money. Judging by the quality of the lunch, I wouldn't want to come back in the evening and pay more for the same thing!

Description
Welcome to Chettinad, the world of phenomenal South Indian cuisine. Chettinad is a small village in the Southern Tamil Nadu State of India. Chettinad is known for its culinary delicacies and now is one of the many reasons why people get to know Chettinad. We are a no fuss, no frill, stylish, laid back diner, who just speaks of truly and honest South Indian food in the heart of Central London.

We only know how to cook-up good home comfort authentic food freshly made to order with understated approach to service. No meal is complete without traditional Dosa, lentil pancake eaten any time during the day.

Well! Certainly it isn't just another Curry House!!! "Ideal place to try something new if you are a South Indian food virgin"

Back home in Chettinad, your dishes are served on a huge fresh banana leaf, a disposable platter. Contact with your food is direct and tactile as you eat with your right hand, mixing wet into dry ingredients - a messy business for the uninitiated. In Chettinad Restaurant here, we want you to experience authentic original flavours, therefore you would find some of our dishes served with fresh banana leaf.

Today we appreciate and respect that you have entrusted your palate to us, we will take great loving care and take your taste buds on a journey where each mouthful sings a new magical ''WOW'' note.
Enjoy your meal at Chettinad- The Village Restaurant, where "QUALITY MEETS TRADIITON"
