My family and I visited Chettinad after being recommended this restaurant by a friend and it definitely lived up to expectations. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly. It was nice to go to an authentic, southern Indian restaurant for a change. Highly recommend.

We visited on Saturday evening and were glad that we had reserved a table as the restaurant was full and bustling shortly after we arrived. The food was delicious - for starters we ordered the Ulundu Vadai (the doughnuts were perfectly crispy on the outside whilst soft and fluffy in the middle) and vegetable samosas (which were OK) followed by... We are still sitting at the restaurant as I write this! We stopped for a late afternoon lighter fare! I couldnt believe how authentic and how tasty the items we ordered were. The mini-masala dosai and ulundhu/medhu vadai that we ordered and shared between us were the best we have tasted anywhere outside of India! Kudos to the chef, Maari... More

Its hard to go to London and not have Indian food. I read about Chettinad in a newspaper article about good restaurants at reasonable prices but this was specifically for lunch. Nevertheless. My family and I decided to give it a try. We arrived without reservations and were seared and served quickly. The beer we ordered was lukewarm which was... More

This is a very nice, modestly priced, south Indian restaurant, specializing in dosa, which are delicate, light and tasty. The curries are also quite distinctive and tasty. The prices are reasonable and the staff helpful and friendly.

Amazing restaurant- Arif was great and food was delicious. We had the chicken dosa, chili prawns and mild lamb curry with lemon rice. All we can say is wow but you have to go in and look for Arif- true definition of excellent customer service. World class here right in London.

Great restaurant close to Goodge Street subway station. Friendly reception, fast service and smiles from start to finish. We ordered three main courses to share for one adult and two kids and were not disappointed. One spicy lamb dish, just spicy enough for our son who loves spicy food, one mild chicken dish that our daughter who's not a fan of... More

This above average restaurant was fairly empty on Sunday afternoon. From outside it looked closed and we did think that perhaps we should just walk into the restaurant next door which had its doors swung open. I'm glad we opened the door. It's is a pretty little restaurant with an earthy tone. There were a few tables occupied at the... More

Description
Welcome to Chettinad, the world of phenomenal South Indian cuisine. Chettinad is a small village in the Southern Tamil Nadu State of India. Chettinad is known for its culinary delicacies and now is one of the many reasons why people get to know Chettinad. We are a no fuss, no frill, stylish, laid back diner, who just speaks of truly and honest South Indian food in the heart of Central London.

We only know how to cook-up good home comfort authentic food freshly made to order with understated approach to service. No meal is complete without traditional Dosa, lentil pancake eaten any time during the day.

Well! Certainly it isn't just another Curry House!!! "Ideal place to try something new if you are a South Indian food virgin"

Back home in Chettinad, your dishes are served on a huge fresh banana leaf, a disposable platter. Contact with your food is direct and tactile as you eat with your right hand, mixing wet into dry ingredients - a messy business for the uninitiated. In Chettinad Restaurant here, we want you to experience authentic original flavours, therefore you would find some of our dishes served with fresh banana leaf.

Today we appreciate and respect that you have entrusted your palate to us, we will take great loving care and take your taste buds on a journey where each mouthful sings a new magical ''WOW'' note.
Enjoy your meal at Chettinad- The Village Restaurant, where "QUALITY MEETS TRADIITON"
