Just about the best £7.95 lunch ever. Masala Dosa, coconut chutney, yellow dahl, green bean and tomato and onion currys, yellow rice and pappad. All freshly cooked, delicately spiced, presented Thali style and extra portions of Paratha. Unlike your regular Indian food in the UK which is slathered in either ghee or oil, there was not even a hint of... More

Chiettinad is a really good Indian Restaurant! I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants and really recommend this one. There is a fabulous selection of South Indian food. The staff were very attentive and friendly and were very helpful in finding vegan alternatives for me. Indian food is of course very vegetarian friendly and South Indian food is particularly... We went to Chettinad before catching a movie at the Odeon Théâtre and it was perfect! Jey was a lovely host, the Mango Lassi was delicious as were the coconut chicken and the lamb Marsala curry! The selection of different rice dishes was also very good. The food was ready instantely and we couldn't have wished for a better meal!

Visited Chettinad because we were having major south indian cravings. Food was very good! Service also brilliant (served by Jey) and dosa crisp. Got the lunch deal also, chicken curry was worth it!

My son and I had a terrific meal, dishes were well seasoned and expertly prepared. The servings are large and can easily feed two. Try the prawn appetizer, only down side - it's so good you'll want more. Atmosphere was comfortable, not too noisy. Service, not very attentive but responsive once you got their attention. We'll be back!

We tried this restaurant without a reservation tonight (5th Nov 2016). Jey and his team accommodated us on this busy Saturday night, which for us was our wedding anniversary. The food was the best Indian Cuisine we have ever had. The service was flawless and Jew runs the place with a precision to detail that impressed me immensely.

Description
Welcome to Chettinad, the world of phenomenal South Indian cuisine. Chettinad is a small village in the Southern Tamil Nadu State of India. Chettinad is known for its culinary delicacies and now is one of the many reasons why people get to know Chettinad. We are a no fuss, no frill, stylish, laid back diner, who just speaks of truly and honest South Indian food in the heart of Central London.

We only know how to cook-up good home comfort authentic food freshly made to order with understated approach to service. No meal is complete without traditional Dosa, lentil pancake eaten any time during the day.

Well! Certainly it isn't just another Curry House!!! "Ideal place to try something new if you are a South Indian food virgin"

Back home in Chettinad, your dishes are served on a huge fresh banana leaf, a disposable platter. Contact with your food is direct and tactile as you eat with your right hand, mixing wet into dry ingredients - a messy business for the uninitiated. In Chettinad Restaurant here, we want you to experience authentic original flavours, therefore you would find some of our dishes served with fresh banana leaf.

Today we appreciate and respect that you have entrusted your palate to us, we will take great loving care and take your taste buds on a journey where each mouthful sings a new magical ''WOW'' note.
Enjoy your meal at Chettinad- The Village Restaurant, where "QUALITY MEETS TRADIITON"
