We popped in here for lunch. The service was quick and friendly and we didn't wait long for our food. The food was lovely and tasty and freshly prepared. We didn't have room for a cake but they looked lovely!

had a take out coffee on my first day passing so thought I'd treat myself to a pastry the next day. Except it set me back £10 for a pear du pain and a coffee that was slightly too hot. Wish I'd just had a take out coffee again.

We ate breakfast here our last day in London. Despite the very tempting pastries we opted for the toast, yogurt and coffee. We got six slices of toast, a container of French yogurt and a selection of jams and butter. A large cup of coffee was also included. We enjoyed the quiet upscale ambiance.

Having a sweet tooth, the display of the cakes as I walked past this place intrigued me. I decided to try it out. I was quickly seated, there were a few other people, I'd say 1/3 full. I decided to go for the chocolate cake and Moroccan mint tea. Didn't have to wait long until I received my order. It... More

Came hungry. In the mood for fish and chips. The fish was soggy. Quite disappointing. Nice ambiance. Nicely decorated. Slow service. Friend had lamb shank. Looked nice. Disappointing overall because of the nice decor and prices, expected more. Maybe better for desserts but didn't have any.

So many good cakes and macaroons. It is a fancy place, but it plays laid back music, and two travelers with their wheeled suitcases and tired faces is feeling good taking care of.

Visited on a mid-week lunch time at 2pm. Restaurant was busy but by no means full. We were sat promptly at a table. That is where the prompt service ended. We waited a good 15-20 minutes before finally asking a passing waiter to take our order for food and drinks. The food when it came was good and freshly prepared.... More

Enjoyed a fabulous Afternoon Tea here - loved that it is served all day so we really enjoyed it for dinner. The sandwiches were great, the pastries delicious, but the scones were to die for ! With the clotted cream and jam they were the best. We could not finish everything so our very kind server packed them up for... More

Totally average; over-priced, dry cakes. Staff totally disinterested. Will not return. Restaurant itself was tatty and dated.

It just pretends to be an Italian cafè but the hot chocolate is like starbucks, the desserts and the tartes are quite heavy and buttery. The taste is not very good and surely not worth the high price.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
