There were lots of good things about this restaurant - the best being the quality of nibbles we ordered in the queue! The fresh croquettas were the best I have had, and the cured meat was to die for - so melty and delicious. But for me the rest of the meal was not as good, and I think we... More

This is tapas like I remember my Basque family cooking when I was growing up. Great selection of seafood, and the staff know a lot about what the are serving. Pair it with a good sherry on a hot day.

Go immediately! And, go early- there is always a line and the restaurant does not accept reservations for parties under 8. We were fortunate and secured the last outside table at the first Sunday seating 5:30pm. Hopeful diners after us were told it would be almost a 2 hour wait. All tapas are meant to be shared, we had octopus,... More

Barrafina is an absolutely average Spanish restaurant with 'hit and miss' tapas and hefty bills. The restaurant itself is essentially a bar with high stool chairs - this would be absolutely fine they didn't price their dishes as if they had michelin stars. Service was competent even though I could spare having the waiter describing 10+ tapas. We had a... More

If you're looking for vibe and atmosphere, this one is hard to beat. You can intimately witness the most telling moments of a brilliant kitchen, enjoy outstanding food, and if you're lucky - you might end up being served by Carmen - who was nothing short of a remarkable, focused and attentive team member. Absolute pleasure. Thank you.

I've been meaning to review this wonderful Soho jewel of a restaurant since it opened. Not that they need any hep from me as there's always a queue! I dived in with a pal at noon as the doors opened and it was full by the time we left at 1pm. Delicious, delicious tapas with great wines and, for those... More

Great experience in London. This restaurant serves typical Spanish tapas and wines, Presentation looks good, taste is great ! The restaurant is not so big, but during the queue, there is the possibility to order some tapas and wine until you sit.

We ended up eating here two nights during out trip. The first night we made it for the initial seating right at 5:30PM. (FYI - There are no reservations so to avoid waiting you should be there around 5 to 5:15PM.) It was a great meal with great friends. The flower courgette is a favorite of my wife (Who is... More

Description
Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
