My wife an I had read about this tapas bar the night before and debated whether we should try to dine here that night but although the reviews were good on trip advisor the picture of the dishes did not look appealing. We decided to give it a miss. Walking around China town today we found ourselves walking into Dean... More

Fantastic food and great service- we waited for almost two hours on a Saturday night but once inside you can order a bottle of wine and some tasty nibbles- in good company who cares a bit of a wait! Highlights were the squid croquettes, gambas, courgette flowers and the warm and personalised service- we loved it and can't wait to... More

We arrived at Barrafina after reading lots of reviews on trip advisor. The wait outside was about an hour and then another 20 minutes inside, as we opted for an outside table (we weren't cold, the heaters are great and it's a perfect spot for people watching). Whilst waiting in the inside queue we got some drinks and a couple... More

A very buzzy demanding restaurant which just had to be tried from all the talk about it. arriving at 7pm the queue had around 5-6 people in front. The stool at bar layout expected to be waits however on asking the waiter had mentioned it could be around 1 and 3/4 of an hour wait! the queue seemed very small... More

I thought the food at Barrafina was very good, but didn't quite hit that exceptional mark. Dishes were beautifully plated but some of the flavors were a bit muddy. I had the chorizo, potato and watercress, the morcilla iberica and quail eggs, the olives and a glass of nuviana - the total came to 30.50 pounds. I thought the price... More

Was it worth a two hour wait? Absolutely not. Queued for an hour outside in the cold only to wait long enough to join another queue inside. All the seats are bar like, and everything inside is quite cramped... Atmosphere very loud and nothing had an expensive feel. Between two of us we ordered the tuna tartare, fried baby squid,... Without a doubt the best tapas in London. Inventive, fresh, fun and reasonably priced. I love this restaurant. Look for the blackboard specials and order out of your comfort zone for the best experience. A warning, it gets crowded and its small. Waits can be upwards of an hour but it's totally worth it. Have a drink and talk to... More

We have wanted to eat in a Barrafina restaurant for a very long time but didn't fancy the queuing situation, anyway decided to go Dean Street at the weekend. We popped into the Dean Street Town House for drinks while we waited for the restaurant to open, my husband went across the road serval times to see if a queue... More

Love Tapas and this is the best in U.K. I have had. 2 nd visit. No reservations so you have to wait and on a Saturday night 1.5 hours but no problem as you get a drink or two as you wait inside restaurant. No different from going to a bar for a couple before dinner. Great friendly staff and... More

Almost 1.5 hrs to wait on a table at this buzzing first class tapas restaurant. But well worth it. Our 2nd visit here with a no Reservations rule. Staff working at 100 miles an hour and eager to please. Food first class and well worth the wait. You can order tapas at the bar area while you wait to be... More

Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
