After days of choosing which Japanese restaurant to take my girlfriend and reading 100 reviews I picked Chisou and it did not disappoint. The food was great and not pricey as I expected at all. We had a few sharing dishes and it was enough for the 2 of us. The server picked our wine which complimented our food perfectly.... More

Went to this restaurant as it was highly rated. As far as Japanese restaurants go, the food was too pricey for what we got. We've had sushi and sashimi everywhere from Vancouver to New York and the rolls we had at Chisou while fine, were not worth what they were charging. Everything was fresh but not spectacular which is what... More

Dear BellissimoL123, Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear you were not completely satisfied with your experience. We try so hard to keep our prices as fair as possible, often comparing our menu to other central London Japanese restaurants. The truth is things are getting very expensive these days so to serve the best quality food we have to... More

We booked a table for 7 of us for a family dinner on a Friday evening. Most impressive was the extremely friendly nature of the restaurant crew and the quick delivery of our orders. We ordered a lot of food from the rock shrimp with spinach salad which was beautifully presented and equally delicious, to the ngiri's. The food was... More

Less than half the price of Roka and ten times more Japanese. Delicious miso soup, sushi and sides. Friendly, professional Japanese manageress. Japanese waiters. Japanese chef. Can’t wait to go back to London to revisit Chisou.

There are much better places in London to eat Japanese food for this money.I would recommend to avoid Chisou as the food is far overpriced and quality isn't impressive.

Been here a couple of times and can honestly say the good was great both times. Soft shell crab maki, spicy tuna maki, chicken yakatori and the freshest tasting salmon nigiri I've ever had-melt in your mouth deliciousness! I would highly recommend it.

We love sushi, so having had a successful shopping trip to Regents Street, we were very happy to find this lovely restaurant. It's a bit Tardis like as it looks tiny from the outside. Loads of choice on the menu - we weren't very brave and went for a set lunch, which was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. Not cheap... More

There is no shortage of japanese or sushi restaurants in London but its great to know somewhere where quality is high, the service is welcoming, you can relax as long as you like, the value is good and you can just walk in without booking if you are in centre of town (off Regent St by Oxford Circus)... this is... I was very unimpressed by the dinner we had at chisou last Sunday. The service was slow, the waitress was always forgetting something: brought 3 napkins instead of 4, forgot the drink for one of us, not all the main dishes reached us either... the food took ages to get. And lacked flavours while being overly salty. They also have... More

Description
With two central locations, Chisou serves some of the best Japanese cuisine in London. Our Izakaya style dining is a fantastic way to experience a great selection of Japanese food as guests are encouraged to order several dishes to share. Our sake is some of the best Japanese Nihon Shu in London, some only available at Chisou in the UK. All our restaurants have private areas which can be booked for small intimate functions or lager events. We continue the Japanese tradition of offering our guests privacy and exceptional service. We look forward to seeing you soon at Chisou restaurants. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
