Lunch time special, 2 X tapas, glass of wine, bread and aeoli for just over £10, cracking value for this part of London. The food was good, service and ambience fine, will definitely call again, It was busy so may well be advised to book.

Went here for lunch with 2 friends. The set menu at £23.50 per person sounded a good idea, and it wasn't bad at all, although we could have done with a little more food. I think for a food total of £70.50 we would probably have done better with individually selected tapas dishes. The set menu is reinforced with bread... More

An extremely well priced restaurant for the area. We had the set menu for £23.50 which had some great dishes including probably the best calamari I've ever had.

Just got in by chance and enjoyed very good Spanish tapas. We had the ham, a cheese platter, salami and prosciutto, an exquisite pate and a delicious octopus. Recommendable.

2 of us went for dinner. El Pirata is located just back from Piccadilly and walking distance from major hotels in the area like the London Hilton and Intercontinental. There are a few tables outside on the pavement with tables inside on 2 floors. We hadn’t made a reservation so as the ground floor was full we were given a... More

Happened to be in London same time as friends of mine from Florida. They have been to this restaurant many times, so had reservations for us. I think we may have tried one of everything! Food was awesome, atmosphere great. Highly recommended!

It was if we had been transported back to spain when we walked in. Our waiter was from venaswala with a Portuguese father I'm sorry I forgot his name but I can say that he was the best waiter that has ever served me. Nothing was too much trouble as he looked after my wife and me. the food was... More

I booked a table here for my partner and I to celebrate her birthday. We had never been here before but fancied a night in London and fancied some Spanish Tapas. We were welcomed by everyone from the staff at the bar to the owner and felt very welcome. The food and service was excellent and great value for money... More

Critically acclaimed Spanish tapas restaurant El Pirata opened its doors in 1994. Tucked away in the corner of Mayfair next to Hyde Park, El Pirata has become a firm favourite for those wanting an authentic Spanish experience.

Relax at the superb mirrored bar with a drink or two whilst enjoying the atmosphere of the Spanish influenced decor. Whether upstairs or downstairs, you can enjoy the Tapas menu where each dish is individually priced, or if you’re not too familiar with Tapas, choose from our two fantastic set menus.

At lunchtimes enjoy our special lunch menu which offers great value; two tapas dishes, a bread roll and alioli plus a soft drink or a glass of wine for just £10.25 – great value!

Downstairs is ideal for parties and gatherings of up to 60 people. If you prefer a private area for either that important business dinner or a more romantic setting for that more intimate meal, you will find our two private alcoves perfect.

When the weather’s at its best, our four outside tables are an instant hit, but you’ll have to be early because they are snapped up fast!

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
