We were quite surprised when we walked in, it has a very nice environment and the staff was quite welcoming. The problem was the food, very poor quality and I can assure that the spanish omelette was made who knows when and just re-heated in the microwave. Unfortunately, the food is not better to the one any of us could... More

Real gem in the heart of London. Food was delicious and customer service was amazing! Best Tapas restaurant I have ever been to in London! They could do with a good cocktail menu. Tiger Prawns were my favourite. They also served really fresh bread and an excellent garlic mayo sauce free of charge!

I've been to El Pirata many times, it's one of my favourite restaurants in London and by far the best tapas. Last night was extra special as it was part of a surprise 60th birthday evening for a friend. Seven of us went - I've raved about this place for years - and all had a great time. Lovely food,... Visited this restaurant many times over the last 5 years and the standards are very high. The management and staff are always friendly and helpful and the food has always been excellent. Great bar for a drink and a lively atmosphere. Fully recommend!

Visited fir the first time in ages. Place was packed but we were seen immediately & invited to have a drink at the bar whilst table was made ready. Sat exactly on time. Attentive & friendly staff. Never heard of this place before but we were staying at a hotel around the corner, rang them and booked a table that evening. The atmosphere, the food, the wine.... absolutely amazing! Staff were so helpful and knowledgeable! Food authentically Spanish. Cannot fault it, great night!

Tapas were at upmost quality and taste, i ate octopus, bruchetta, and sardines. Sardines was the best one. Their drink list is good but stocks are empty. So i can find what i asked at fourth try. Price was average.

Description
Critically acclaimed Spanish tapas restaurant El Pirata opened its doors in 1994. Tucked away in the corner of Mayfair next to Hyde Park, El Pirata has become a firm favourite for those wanting an authentic Spanish experience.

Relax at the superb mirrored bar with a drink or two whilst enjoying the atmosphere of the Spanish influenced decor. Whether upstairs or downstairs, you can enjoy the Tapas menu where each dish is individually priced, or if you’re not too familiar with Tapas, choose from our two fantastic set menus.

At lunchtimes enjoy our special lunch menu which offers great value; two tapas dishes, a bread roll and alioli plus a soft drink or a glass of wine for just £10.25 – great value!

Downstairs is ideal for parties and gatherings of up to 60 people. If you prefer a private area for either that important business dinner or a more romantic setting for that more intimate meal, you will find our two private alcoves perfect.

When the weather’s at its best, our four outside tables are an instant hit, but you’ll have to be early because they are snapped up fast!

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
