Ate dinner with my husband here. Not the typical Pub feel to this place. Plenty of light. Tables were tight and drew a somewhat loud, but friendly crowd. Great service, quick and attentive. Menu offered a few specialty cocktails as well as a good selection of worldwide wines. I had one of the specials of the evening, lamb chops. My... More

My wife and I stumbled on this place on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by the most pleasant and friendly waitress with glasses who told us to find a table. I ordered drinks from the bar from the most miserable barman I've met in London so far. For goodness sake if you don't enjoy meeting people then don't work... More

Yeah. After a full day of "tourism," this was exactly what we needed. Friendly, attentive service; high quality drinks; delicious food options.... Definitely recommend. Even family friendly.

Very warm welcome, happy atmosphere and really good food. Obviously very popular as extremely busy, but staff always courteous and helpful. I loved my chicken paillard, the sauce was especially tasty, husband enjoyed the crab risotto, and pan a cotta and chocolate brownie deserts met expectations

The best restaurant in Bermondsey street for me, I keep coming back. The food change regularly so it is always a nice surprise. Book a table, especially for fridays/saturdays as it can be very busy.

My son and I stumbled on this unpretentious pub/restaurant in Southbank on a Saturday night and were able to get a table right away. The room itself is funky and eclectic. Our servers were friendly and efficient (our orders came quickly). But the big draw here was the food -- my son had a pasta and I had a chicken... More

Garrison is always packed and we were lucky to get a table without having made a reservation. They took my (large) bag away and stored it in the office. We both had two starters and some wine, and shared a dessert - absolutely perfect!

I visited here for lunch with my husband and parents on a Saturday in July 2016. The food was pretty good and the wine selection, although small, was quite nice. Service was OK but felt rushed. There was a group of men in the bar who were extremely loud and obnoxious which meant my parents couldn't really hear anything and... More

Living on Bermondsey street decided to take my friend visiting for breakfast! We were met by lovely hostess but the it went downhill!! Our waiter failed to comprehend, when taking an order he's actually gotta speak!! Instead we were met with head gestures and silence!!! So not a hello good morning. What can I get you ? No repeating the... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
