Decided to make our visit to the ROH extra special by enjoying dinner in the Amphitheatre Restaurant. The service was good and the food was good but slightly overpriced at £35. Food well presented. Disappointed the bread/cheese course was extremely dry. Fish and chips excellent. Black lentil vegetarian choice flavoursome. Beware the offer of water...the bottles are in situ on... More

This Restaurant does not warrant the 4 stars it gets on Trip Advisor! Had the 3 courses for £35 Dinner Menu; which also has supplements and charges £4 for side dishes; The food was not up to much at all ! You pre-order your meal if you are seeing the Opera or Ballet, and you have your table all evening,... More

We were alway slightly apprehensive having to order a meal 3 days prior to our visit, however, this seemed to be the norm (we later found out this is not always the case). On arrival, the waiters were friendly enough but with an air of indifference. The whole experience was one of a fast food restaurant with a high price... More

Booked this restaurant as wanted to make trip with my 80 y.o. mother as stressfree as possible, and was delightful. Very light courses, but perfect as we had a different restaurant booked for evening. Waiter very attentive. Would definitely do again as provides a relatively calm oasis in the scrum that is interval service!

Three of us ate here on the opening night of Nabucco. We have eaten here before and were expecting a really special night. However, although my pea and mint soup was delicious, the other 2 courses of fish and chips followed by crème brulee were extremely disappointing. The other 2 diners were also disappointed and thought the charge excessive for... More

I got bad attitude from my waiter. The menu is too pricey for small little dishes with just ok food. The ambient was too hot because it seems like they're cheap when it comes to turning on an air-conditioner during London summer. Everything took forever, it looked like they're were just not ready at all to serve full house. Hated... More

The service here is excellent. The food was poor. A thin, watery gaspacho without any of the "bits" that a true Spanish gaspacho has, like small pieces of fresh vegetables or croutons. A cod dish where the cod was good but the accompaniments frankly ludicrous. Five different grains that made the whole dish dry and tasteless. Grains need a jus... More

This restaurant is an oasis of calm in the ROH which is full to bursting with people especially while the alterations are taking place. You are not made to feel rushed in spite of the fact that everyone arrives at the same time mostly expecting to eat their first and main course before the performance starts. My steak was tender, cooked... I sat there saying to myself," well it looks pretty, if you can actually see it " The broad bean hummus presentation was attractive with its peas shoots garnish but tasted dull and a minute portion. Next the Beluga lentils and mushrooms again with the pea shoots. The lentils were undercooked and the mushrooms almost an afterthought again a dull... More

Very mixed feeling: it is good if you do not have time for a proper pre-opera dinner and you do not mind fully overpaying. 2 persons dinner with starter, main and dessert plus 4 glasses of wine and 200£ are gone, for food that was just okay. Steak is overpriced and advertised by the waiter as best in the city,... More
