This is a beautiful location that is sure to wow any guests you bring here. We only stayed for afternoon tea, but it was everything we were looking for. The pricing was also very reasonable for the value, especially compared to other afternoon tea venues. They do get quite busy however, so being patient with the servers is very important.... More

Although its a very posh restaurant the service is very friendly and accomodating. The food is of the highest standard and well worth price. We recomend the mouth watering ox cheek. A memorable experience!

Visited with friends for a nightcap. The Maitre de managed to find us a seat, despite the fact that the place was heaving.Good service, very noisy, lots of atmosphere, not a place a should like to remain for too long, but well worth the visit.

My husband and I came here for 5th anniversary breakfast before a day out in town. We were looking for a swanky breakfast dining experience to start our day, so having spent some time researching the best breakfast places in London we settled on The Wolseley. A part of the attraction was the decor, and I must say, this didn't... More

To be honest, it's not the food that makes the Wolseley so memorable. It's the room and the feeling. It's bustling and elegant at the same time. It has the same "be and be seen" vibe as La Coupole in Paris. I usually stay in the area - Duke's mostly - so it's very convenient. But it is so close... More

We always eat here when in town and this place never, ever disappoints. Consistently great food, great service and a buzzy atmosphere not matched by many places. Not overly expensive either. Would highly recommend eating here.

I have been visiting the Wolseley now for several years on a regular basis until 4 months ago when we visited and had a table for 6. Our party consisted of well known colleagues in the food and beverage industry. Sadly what was sold as particular types of fish were not in fact the case and we challenged and at... More

Felt I was on top of my neighbours and found their dinner conversations bit too hard to ignore. Food was good and service slick but all a bit pack em in for Christmas. Better on a Monday in February I suspect.

We visited the Wolseley for Afternoon Tea, and was disappointed. Upon arrival our table was not ready and had to wait in the bar area, this is a very small space, we had to stand as all of the tables were taken. No table clothes on the tables, we sat in front of the service area which was very noisy.... More

What can I say about the Wolseley? My Wife and I had wanted to eat here for years and her Birthday seemed the perfect opportunity. It is bigger than I had appreciated but we were seated efficiently and served attentively - certainly at the start of the meal. It had been made very clear that our table booking at 7pm... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
