They've worked a lot on the image of the food, which is to be appreciated, but I wasn't thoroughly impressed with the taste. Nothing was bad, but didn't feel particularly special either. There are more memorable afternoon tea experiences to be had in London.

I took my husband there for his birthday and we were not disappointed. Even though I do not eat meat, there was plenty of choice for me, and I'm only sorry I didn't pace myself better. I was very full after the starter and main, with no room for the wonderful selection of deserts, fruit and cheese. Still managed to... More

Our restaurant meal was on an offer of 3 courses and half a bottle off wine per diner for £30. There was not a huge choice on the special menu, so my wife had octopus terrine and I had a salad to start. We both enjoyed the first course and were looking forward to our mains, we had both selected... More

As hotel guests, we were warmly welcomed and well treated. A good variety of food in two eating areas, both very comfortable and pleasant. Children and families welcome, as are couples and business singles.

Love that at breakfast they cover all the bases... every nationality is represented and it's all yummy, fresh and plentiful. Tea is taken to another level along with many of their local ingredients. worth every penny

The Montagu is inside the Churchill Hyatt Hotel and it is quite a haven after a full day. The decor is subdued, with a nice palette of deep browns and dark greens. The staff is friendly and efficient. The menu offers many continental choices and the experience is pleasant. There is something to be said about an informal restaurant in... More

Dinner in the Montagu was excellent and the choice of dishes excellent. We chose steak and chicken one night, pasta another, and fish. All were good and suggested wine choices excellent. Coffee is better than at any previous visit to this restaurant.

Truth to be told I never expect much from a hotel restaurant. But The Montagu truly pleased us twice for drinks and late/light meals. Service was very professional, appetizers and deserts we had were outstanding so whenever you're around and are hungry you should absolutely give this restaurant a chance. You won't regret it.

Could not fault The atmosphere and service, but unfortunately the meat slices were cut too thick and the beef was very rare. Also the Yorkshire pudding were Over cooked. Otherwise a very pleasant experience. Could not fault the sweets. Delicious.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
