My friends and I walked into this restaurant during a busy lunch period and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were seated. The tapas-style menu was perfect for sharing, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious! The flavors were vibrant, and the portions were just right for sampling a variety of dishes. The wine menu was extensive and we especially appreciated the local produce focus of the menu.

Amidst the cold embrace of a London day, Rabbit shines like a beacon, its warmth and charm beckoning to weary travelers. Upon entering, one is enveloped by a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, providing respite from the biting chill outside. From Australia's sun-kissed shores, I ventured to this culinary gem on Kings Road. Chelsea and Lukas, paragons of hospitality, ensured seamless service, their mastery matched by the extraordinary cuisine. Each dish sang with flavors, a testament to the chef's virtuosity. The local white wine provided the perfect harmony, elevating the experience to the realm of the sublime. Rabbit is a haven of warmth and gastronomic excellence, leaving an indelible mark upon my heart and palate. With eager anticipation, I look forward to my return.

My mother and I visited Rabbit in Chelsea for dinner on a casual weekday. I had never been but was keen on trying it out. Both of us were pleasantly surprised by the ambience of the room and the warmth and originality of the space. Chance, who was taking care of us, was very thoughtful and made sure we would enjoy our meal by making suggestions and asking questions to understand what it is that we were looking to experience. I was very happy he came back to us and kindly “insisted” on the beetroot chocolate cake - which ended up being the highlight of our dinning experience. Food wise I would suggest the mushroom eclair, the rabbit bread (but add a little salt on the butter) and of course the star which is the beetroot chocolate cake. Thank you for having us and giving us a beautiful night of conversation, yummy food and wine.

What a disappointment! Had read all the great reviews about this place but our experience was abysmal. It took 30 mins before we were even offered some water let alone anything else. The front of house constantly kept apologising for the bad service but nothing improved from start to finish. When the food finally arrived over an hour later we found only some of the food was ok, some undercooked, some cold. After our main course was cleared away - when one of our party was still eating - we received no further service. No offer of deserts or coffee or anything else. Front of house came to apologies once again when we refused to pay the service charge with excuses about new staff who hadn’t had the opportunity to be trained properly and staff illness. We booked this two weeks in advance and yet they were taking walk ins knowing they were inadequately staffed. I liked the ethos of the home based sourcing of the ingredients but I think this is just a scam! What’s worse is that we’d booked this for a friend who’d come from Paris to celebrate her birthday. The front of house said that if we came back we would be given free champagne and our experience would be much better. Not putting that to the test! Can spend my hard earned money in places where they know how to run a restaurant and cook properly

When we were sat down no one came and said hi or explained the menu to us. Took the staff 30 minutes and a prompt to bring a bottle of tap water and take our order. Then took another 20 minutes for our bottle of wine to arrive. Our starters then came at different times which ruined the start of our dinner and one of our starters went cold as we wanted to eat together. There was no apology for this… When our mains and sides came, the waitress dropped some of our potatoes and claimed to have added a few extra on top, which was evident she hadn’t… she just binned the ones she dropped and we didn’t get any replacements. The waitress used a dirty napkin from the table next to us to clean down out table whilst we were sat there. She then laid the table incorrectly. The staff were clearly severely overwhelmed and understaffed. Whilst some of my complaints are very minor and pedantic, I have an issue with them when I’m paying £250 for two people - at this level you expect stellar service. Whilst the food was on par, the service made the experience a highly stressful and annoying experience. For that, we won’t ve revisiting and we'll tell the same to our friends.

The produce used is clearly of great quality and the menu is likely to be appealing to a wide variety of people. However, I think the restaurant is a victim of its location, as I the food was overpriced and the dishes were slightly uninspiring. There are some other very high quality restaurants with better food for a smaller cost per head. I will add that the service was good and the atmosphere is also quite nice. If you are looking for something within the local area then, it would probably be a good choice, but I wouldn't recommend it as a restaurant to visit in London, there are better options available for lower cost.

My wife and I went to Rabbit on a Thursday evening without a reservation. We were shown two tables that they could seat us at. The one table was in front of the food preparation area the other table near the bar. We decided to sit on the side near the bar. The table and the bench seating were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat at in a restaurant. The table was too high and the benches were offset to one another so I could not sit directly across from my wife. Our server was pleasant. She helped us with the menu and wine selection and also addressed my wife’s allergy concerns. I ordered the mushroom marmite éclair, Braised Venison and Brussel Sprouts. My wife ordered the Bread, Venison and Salt Baked Potatoes. We also ordered a carafe of Rabbit Red wine, which was a nice wine. The bread and the mushroom éclair came to the table quickly but we had to ask for the wine about 20 minutes later. The mushroom éclair was a taste treat. We then noticed that our table was next to the dish washer/cleaning station and then listened to the dishwasher. About one hour into not having our meals and our server never checking in on us to see how we were doing. We had to ask about our meal. She told us that she would check but the venison had been a popular order for the night and the kitchen was backed up. Ten minutes later out came the Brussel Sprouts and the Salt potatoes and another ten minutes after that our venison. The venison was cooked rare which was fine but my wife’s venison was actually cold on the inside and not even cooked rare. It was so tough she could not actually eat it. I ate her cold venison. The Brussel Sprouts were not very good and the best part of the meal were the salt potatoes. Go find another place to eat in Chelsea. Rabbit did not deliver a quality dining experience!

Attended for tasting menu this evening. Had flagged beforehand this was for anniversary but no special mention was made at all. We were on a table so small I (a size 6 woman) could barely squeeze in and out of. It was a bit absurd. The food was good (I wouldn’t go further than that), but it would be stretch to say it was seasonal. We went to the sister restaurant The Shed last June and had *identical* courses. The pudding was the main difference. Service was poor. We went for the wine pairing with the tasting menu but, first, they brought out a pairing after we had finished the course, and then they got the pairing with the wrong course. They came over and explained they would give us a free dessert wine to compensate. We were happy with this. Except they never actually delivered on this promise. The main event took an absurdly long time to come out. 25 minutes is not exactly acceptable for a tasting menu course. No one bothered to apologise for the wait either. We were not offered teas or coffees to finish. Not exactly a memorable experience. We had fond memories of The Shed which is why we chose this for a memorable occasion. Was extremely disappointed to find everything out of balance. We did not pay the service charge because, ultimately, I was embarrassed they had put it on the bill. They were clearly trying to compensate with the offer of an extra glass, but that means nothing when they failure to deliver on it.

Do not visit if you’re a vegetarian. The Sunday roast menu online does not state anywhere that it is a sample menu, so I expected to be able to order the confit celeriac roast. The website menu also stipulates that all roasts come with a Yorkshire pudding. After being ignored for 15-20 minutes, my mother-in-law finally caught someone’s attention. I was told that there was no vegetarian option available and that the online menu is a sample and updated daily. The website has not been updated since we booked c. 1 month ago and does not state that it’s a sample. I was told that they could make me some cauliflower, but there would be no gravy as it wasn’t suitable for vegetarians. Dry cauliflower. Some time later I was told the chef could make me a red wine sauce if I was happy to wait a bit longer. Whilst the chef did make some kind of sauce (that scarcely covered the cauliflower) the red wine sauce did not make an appearance. So I had a plate of dry, undercooked vegetables. They also did not give me a Yorkshire pudding, despite the online menu saying they come with ALL roasts. Needless to say, I won’t be returning to this disappointment of an establishment.

The whole concept of Rabbit being local and wild is lovely but sadly the execution was very much lacking. My friend and I visited on a Friday evening and selected the tasting menu which was priced at £68pp, more than stated online. When we arrived we were the only customers in the restaurant and so we were well attended to but by the end we had almost been forgotten about. The food was disappointing, lacking imagination and often flavour. The worst dish we were served was without doubt the dessert which was literally dark chocolate buttons, a whipped cream which was verging on split and some flavourless poached rhubarb. I don’t think I have ever been served a less exciting and interesting “dessert” if you could even call it that. Whilst I understand that a tasting menu is meant to be small portions, I think here the sizes were beyond small. I had to have food when I got home. In addition, it was strange that despite the restaurant not being full everyone was being seated next to one another which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere as we were all so close to one another! Overall, I left feeling hungry, disappointed and like I had been cheated due to the cost of the menu. Nonetheless, there were some positives. The cocktails were expensive but delicious, especially the peach and rose cup! Additionally, the mushroom marmite eclair and the langoustine dish was delicious. I would add that the other customers in the restaurant who had ordered other food were served decent sized portions and so I would go for something off the a la carte menu instead if I were to return.

Very disappointing. From reading people’s reviews I thought if nothing else, we would have great service… we had the most basic, impersonal service imaginable, the serving staff barely looked us in the eye or bothered engaging in conversation. The food was not awful but not worth the money at all. The courgette flower tempura was really delicious but our other starter of roasted tomatoes lacked seasoning, and our main course of steak was not rested properly and therefore very chewy and bled all over the plate. Not sure if we just went on an off day, but wouldn’t recommend!

We went on a Wednesday and did the tasting menu with wine pairings. A tasting menu should be the same easiest thing to get right but it was so wrong. Every course but one (the scallop) was tragic. Burnt tasting canapés, stringy asparagus, chewy beef and the saddest looking desert you’ve ever seen (it looked like my toddlers yogurt portion after she served it herself) with poorly cooked rhubarb thrown on top, like it would hide what was going on…. I’ve actually been to the Rabbit twice before this experience and have had benign experiences. I mean, I’ve been three times! But this was one of the worst meals I’ve had in London which goes down like a black eye when you pay more than 150gbp a head.

Very disappointing. Tables crammed too close; domed base made ours uncomfortable to sit at. Service slow but friendly and did make attempts to deal with a food intolerance. We ate from the ‘Christmas’ menu: poor value of variable quality. My venison was mainly gristle, as was the replacement sent when we complained. This didn’t merit any adjustment to the bill however. Wines pleasant but ridiculously expensive. What should have been a lovely evening with our family turned out a great let-down.

When we arrived we were advised to get 3 plates of food and that the mains weren't particularly substantial. This was simply untrue the portion of 1 main was plenty. I thought the food was incredibly lacklustre especially given the price and the area. Completely flavourless and I really wouldn't recommend it. Really disappointing. Wish I'd gone across the road to Sticks N sushi

We waited an hour from arrival at lunch time for our meal to arrive to start with. My husband had roast beef and I had fish. I’d asked for extra veg as I can’t eat Yorkshire pudding and I got an extra 4 roast potatoes. My fish was so dry and cold it looked like a piece of cardboard, I sent it back although the waiter suggested pouring the sauce - curdled - over it so it was less dry! My husband meanwhile tried to cut his roast beef which he couldn’t as it was so tough and cold and eat his vegetables, which had been cooked for so long they were completely limp as tasteless as well as being cold. He gave up. After 10 minutes with no sign of the fish, we asked for the bill to pay for drinks, which they brought and had included a service charge. The next door table also complained about their fish and couldn’t eat it. The waiter said there had been more complaints about the food as well. I’d have hoped the waiter/manager would have waived the charge and offered for us to come back another time to try the food again but he didn’t even try. It was meant to be a treat for Sunday lunch and it’s the only time we’ve both been totally unable to eat our meal, really dreadful and such a disappointment.

Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
