Located across the street for the Crown Plaza Hotel, went in for a drink wjile we wauted to check in to the hotel. Spent 7 days in London and ate there 4days out of the seven. will definitely recommend and will visit again.
Corner pub with a large selection of draught beer that serves an interesting menu, including an early price fixed that comfortably fills the stomach. We had starters of two grilled sardines and grilled mussels (rather than snails) in a typical escargot sauce and mains of...More
Across from Crowne Plaza. Went here just looking to get something to eat. Ended up eating here 4 of 6 nights I was there because it was so GOOD! Meals were schnitzel, lamp chop, ribeye steak, and Sunday pork roast. Amazing! Also recommend calamari starter!
We walked past the Union Tavern when we were walking to our hotel and I spied the roast through the window which looked amazing. When we got back to our hotel we googled Union Tavern and the reviews were very positive so we decided to...More
Union Tavern is just opposite to Crowne Plaza and it's a very good choice for many reasons. Food is very tasty, with a variety of options for adults and kids as well.
Good price - I would say "money for value" since apart from the...More
Staying nearby, needed a pre-theatre menu and you certainly get great food at excellent value. 2 courses for £12.95, top ingredients fabulously prepared. A real find, don't miss it if your're in the area.

Visited on a weekday lunchtime, and had the great value set menu - £7.95 for grilled mussels & linguine, which were both delicious! We were also given bread for the table. The service was also excellent, wouldn't hesitate to return.
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky
models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
