We had dinner at the Savoy Grill before seeing Imelda Staunton in Gypsy at the adjacent Savoy Theatre. The location was obviously excellent for our purposes. The dining room is ok, nothing very special about the decor. The serice was prompt and friendly and luckily not very stuffy. The food was overpriced, however, it was delicious. We had a whole... We ended up at the Churchill table by chance. What a hoot. It's expensive but worth it. Food was great and the staff was outstanding.

My husband and I saved a lot of money to visit this restaurant (especially coming from South Africa with our weak currency) as this was the one thing on our bucket list on our holiday to the UK that we didn't want to miss and it was worth every cent! Although we clearly stood out (looking like typical tourists amongst... More

This restaurant was noisier than I would have imagined. I was seated near a table where the clients was noisy and vulgar. The smart casual dress code was also not implemented unless red hot pants have become smart casual. Luckily the service is fantastic and the waiters are very polite, friendly and witty. I had the specials of the day... More

My wife and I visited here for a pre theatre supper. We both went for the 2 course set menu and had a cocktail before and two glasses of wine each. No pudding but a coffee each and the bill was over £200. While I don't begrudge paying for a decent meal the Savoy Grill felt a little like an... More

My Husband and i have just returned from the most superb lunch at the Savoy Grill. Waiting staff very friendly and welcoming and even though the Restaurant was extremely busy we were never kept waiting. The wine was lovely and the food was fantastic (would highly recommend the Snails to start). The waiter asked if this was a special occasion... More

I know some reviewers here have had a less-than-stellar experience at The Savoy Grill when they dine with vouchers and discount codes and the like. Here's the trick: go to this place when you want to spend according to the venue, and you will never be disappointed. As a Londoner, The Savoy Grill has been my go-to dinner venue for... More

I'd heard about the Savoy Grill but had thought it would be a bit pretentious and possibly intimidating - but was wrong on both counts. The staff were friendly and helpful with choices of food and wine, the menu was varied and the cooking excellent. A table nearby included four young children who were made welcome by the staff, and... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
