My boyfriend and I visited on 2/18 and it was a disappointing experience. I was excited to try it out as I'm a huge foodie but honestly, don't waste your time or money. We had a reservation for 9:00 PM and arrived at 8:55 PM. We were told by the hostess that we were too early and could wait downstairs... More

The restaurant was not up to its normal high standard and our waiter pointed out that they were short staffed and the service was very slow. The food was not up to their normal high standard with only average flavours/taste

This place I have been busting for long years and it never fails me. Food always great and staff are very good. The lamp biryani is one of the best I had in London.

My wife and me were just scrolling for indian restaurants online while we came across tamarind. Decided to give it a try, let me tell you hands down, this decision just made our day. Right from start since we dint have a booking on this special valentine day, we were greeted with a warm welcome by hostess natalia and her... More

If you have a sophisticated palate and love Indian food, you will enjoy the informal atmosphere of this super elegant restaurant serving finely balanced, interesting dishes bursting with flavour! My seafood salad starter was slightly lacking variety of leaves and textures but the prawns it contained were tangy and fragrant. My friend's CTM was superb and my fish melted in... More

I came back to the Tamarind for my partners birthday lunch with our 6 month old baby. The staff were very helpful and it was a nice, relaxed atmosphere. We had the set lunch menu but as usual I wanted to make some changes which they were more than happy to accommodate. The food was delicious. Right away from the... More

I was here with my wife for a special occasion. We did not have a booking but we walked in on a Wednesday night. The place was packed and we were told if we wait we can get a table in 20 minutes. We ordered a drink at the bar. The only thing is that if you have to wait... More

Tamarind is Michelin-starred modern Indian food and I guess the evening menu would be quite expensive, but they do excellent lunchtime deals where you could have 2 courses for a similar price to a much more basic meal at other local restaurants. We went for the "group option", where for £35 you get a taste of everything, which we thought... More

Food was amazing. Came a few nights ago and was amazed by the style of the restaurant and the smiling faces of the staff. Lamb chops were the best I've ever eaten. All the starters were fantastic! Staff were a little too attentive but that's not really a bad point!

Michelin-starred Tamarind presents an elegant take on Indian cuisine from its gilded dining room in chic Mayfair. The inventive menu is rooted in traditional Moghul cooking, with fish, meat and game dishes brought forth from the Tandoor oven in an authentic north-west Indian fashion. Muted tones and attentive service make the restaurant a smart yet convivial destination.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
