Second visit to Simpsons in honor of our uncle and aunt who honeymooned in London. Food is wonderful. Decent wine selection. Only drawback is the room temperature. So very hot especially in summer.

This is the place to go for typical and excellent roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. It is very old school.

If you are after a great place to eat and prefer British to foreign food give historic Simpsons a try, you won't be disappointed. Started by Mr Simpson in 1800's (I think) as a chess club (it still has some of the booth's that were played in) he decided as some games lasted so long he would introduce food, the... More

My wife and l visited this restaurant for dinner on our thirdcwedding anniversary last week. We had been in the American Bar in the Savoy Hotel next door for cocktails before dinner. It was a very hot day outside but we were seated next to the air conditioning which was most welcome. We have eated here many times before either... More

We went there with my wife for a dinner to taste the old English Gentlemen's Club atmosphere. The place is very nice and so Victorian. The food is very good, we went there with a Groupon and it was very well served. Wine was good and the desert excellent, while a bit small for my wife. Globally a good experience... More

Lunch at Simpsons twenty years ago was an event to be savoured and on a par with a 'thrill at the grill' at the nearby Savoy. I had heard that Simpsons was up for sale and might close shortly so three friends, remembering some great times in the past, decided to try it one more time. The entrance to the... More

Service was excellent, as was the food. Its a very authentic 1930's restaurant. You will need to book in advance.

Got a deal on one of the discount sites, and the service and food were excellent. Very oldy worldy but just right for a meal prior to our visit to the theatre. Definitely would recommend especially with the deal.

My friends and I ate here during our stay in London, and everyone except one of us ordered the roast beef. First of all, the service was impeccable, as were the cocktails. None of us could believe just how incredibly delicious the beef was, as well as all the tasty treats that accompanied the beef (Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, vegetables,... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
