A hidden gem! We had a lovely lunch which was absolutely delicious ! The special lunch offer was good value and offered variety and choice of freshly prepared and beautifully presented dishes. The cauliflower soup was superb and the roasted hake was excellent . To top it all the deserts were amazing!!! Thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely delightful lunch ! Absolute... More

However good the food, and lots of it was very good, when the sole focus in a restaurant is how to keep warm because there is no adequate heating, the outcome is dissatisfied diners. The heating appeared to rely on an A/C unit put to a high temperature: sorry, completely unacceptable. Although our waiter was pleasant enough, he did seem... More

A lovely lunch today. A golden wedding party. We still have another fifteen years to go. Wines as usual exemplary. Smoked haddock risotto with poached egg was lovely, lamb shank in broth with pearl barley both very generous and delicious. Treacle tart not bad either. I guess over the years we have eaten here over a dozen time and never... More

I ate here last night, and we were extremely luck to be squeezed in without a booking, so I would definitely advise to book in advanced. Immediately we were welcomed to a lovely friendly atmosphere and shown to our table. It was relatively crowded so it was quite loud but this wasn't a problem (but may be for slightly older... More

We had a very good meal in pleasant surroundings, reasonable price. A good place to take friends before or after Southbank activities. Waiters efficient and civil. Thanks alot.

As I walked from Waterloo to the restaurant I ran through the menu that I had looked at the previous evening trying to decide what to have? I remembered that they sometimes have Cote De Boeuf as a special and to my delight it was on offer. This place is nice without being pretentious. The starter of smoked haddock risotto was excellent... My builder brother in law took me to RSJ (geddit ?). Nice place. Service friendly if a bit surly at times. But the food was stunning. Salmon rillettes to start - v tasty. Sister in law had curry puffs. Tried one - awesome. Venison for main was excellent. Chips a bit pricey though. 11.5 chips for £3.50 ? Bit steep... More

Clearly we were unlucky with our visit to this restaurant - I felt sorry for my friend who had recommended and booked it. The food was decent enough but the service was unprofessional and lacking. We were kept waiting 25 mins to even order a drink, despite having told the waiter we were ready - and so it continued, with... More

My wife and I came for a meal here before the ABC concert at The South Bank. We chose it because a Loire Valley wine critic recommended it for both the quality of the food and wine. As soon as we entered and saw a favourite vineyard bottle of wine behind the bar counter (Domaine de la Noblaie) we knew... More

I visited this restaurant with my wife and a friend on a Wednesday night in October 2016. It is a short walk from Waterloo and South Bank. From the outside, there is lots of kerb appeal - the exterior is well maintained and looks extremely welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, too. We were shown upstairs to the...
