The wine list was massive. Far too big for me! But I feel sure for the connoisseur a good thing. Style - cafe side of restaurant. Main space was upstairs and busy and justifiably popular. Food - european. Well cooked and well presented. Good menu choice and tasty. Service was also attentive and professional.

Small and friendly atmosphere in this restaurant. Spartan setting, but clean and attractive. Sat under the RSJ itself just for the hell of it. Jim Broadbent on next table - apparently a regular - so that confirms its well earned reputation of reliable quality food and specialty wines. We were hosted by wine experts so enjoyed several different Loire organic... More

I have been coming to RSJ for years now. It has always been on our radar as a great little Loire-focused bistro not far from Waterloo nor from The South Bank theatres and other attractions. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, food is excellent, ambience is warm and bustling. All great! Tour-de-force 'though is the wine list of Loire specialities lovingly... More

In an unlikely location, a few hundred yards from Waterloo station, this bistro style restaurant offers surprisingly good food on the upper level of a small terraced house. On a recent lunchtime visit, I took the mackerel appetizer and the cod main off the reasonably priced set menu. Both were very well prepared, good Flavors, good portion sizes. Service very... More

This small restaurant is a 5 minute walk from the station and the South Bank. It has a limited menu, limited space for the amount of tables and limited staff. The fixed menu for 2 and 3 courses is reasonable value; the a la carte is not. The wine list centres on the Loire wines but they are quite pricey

I've been coming to this spot on the South Bank for years, and it never disappoints. The menu is small but offers sufficient variety to please any palate. French cuisine is their specialty, along with a uniquely excellent wine list. They have a prix fixe menu which offers excellent value, and is a particularly good choice for theatre attendees. This... This place has been there for years and still serves very good authentic French cuisine, great fish dishes and a superb wine list

Went as a member of a business group for dinner on a Monday evening, not particularly busy. Seating area is on the 1st floor and was delightfully sitting there eating and chatting with the rear door open on a warm London evening. The menu is not extensive, but more than adequate and certainly diverse. Don't expect to save any money... More

RSJ is long-standing favourite situated just off the South Bank near Waterloo station. My family have been coming here for twenty years and it never disappoints. It is a small, charming restaurant with good friendly and efficient service. We always go for the good value set menu. Recently we both had duck salad starter followed by chicken breast on a... During my short stay in London, I returned here twice for dinner because I was so impressed with the standard of the food and wine on offer. I really loved the fact that the menu is small and carefully considered, and that everything offered is fresh and seasonal. The Mediterranean fish soup was to die for, and the pork belly... More
