North of the river Thames, steeped in history, a great old "London Pub". Views out over the river, tons of old original artifacts inside, and with the added history of being an old smugglers pub. Great fun! Be careful if sitting outside facing the river though, at high tide, the waves could get you wet!

Nothing really more to say. Hour plus wait for food even though it's not that busy. One unfortunate waitress seems to have to deliver all the good and has clearly too much to do. Chef must be similarly overworked.

Number 3 on our list situated in Wapping by the Thames. Olde Worlde pub with loads of atmosphere and a great little bear garden with views of Canary Wharf lovely setting in the dusk

Authentic feeling pub with old bar, seats right on the river and also a small riverside garden under a willow. Good selection of standard beers as well as some good local craft beers. Food is regular pub grub. Service was friendly and prompt.

We were staying at an AirBnB nearby and wanted to make certain we enjoyed the atmospherics of an authentic pub. It is quite amazing. Right on the Thames - Charming staff. Frankly, because of the times we visited (off hours, really) and having snacks, I can't fairly review the food. That said, just seeing a living antique that is still... More

This pub is one of the oldest in Wapping, yet it's very comfortable in a modern way whilst losing none of its traditional charm. There's a good selection of beers available with some tasty pub fare as well. We could happily spend several hours there enjoying the atmosphere and the views.

The real ales here are well kept, the pub is very atmospheric and the food is good, fairly standard pub grub. Don't expect gastro pub food and you won't be disappointed. The portions are large and the food satisfying, if a little unadventurous. However, the real strength of this pub is it's location and history. Claiming to be the oldest... More

I said hidden gem pub in the subject line but it's not that hidden for a lot of real Londoners who know how to find one of the most beautiful pubs on the river Thames. For tourists that are willing to walk just a bit further than Tower Bridge it's an absolute must see. Apart from the stunning views, this... More

I had wanted to visiT this pub restaurant for many years and the opportunity come on my youngest sons birthday. My first impressions was wow! It's very old and the present building dates from the middle 18th century. The inside of the Prospect has great charm and we had a table near the window we ordered our meals most of... More
