Location and contact

It might be one of the hippest venues in one of the hippest parts of the capital but this Clerkenwell restaurant still manages to be relaxed and more concerned with good food than being trendy. The restaurant’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar and open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven is functional but welcoming. The Moorish cuisine complete with subtle European influence is every bit as striking as it was when the restaurant opened its doors nearly ten years ago. Tapas served all day at the bar. Reservations taken by phone and directly from our website.PLEASE NOTE - Moro restaurant is now open seven days a week. Please refer to our website

Really enjoyed the food. Tasty and interesting menu. Not cheap (where is in London?) but happy to recommend. And, it's open on Sunday evenings!!!

Compliments to the chef(s)! What a fabulous evening of excellent food! My partner who has visited here several times was really keen to take me and I completely understand why. Something as simple as the fava bean and cucumber soup was absolutely incredibly done, the...More

Lunch here was an absolute delight and a perfect position for walking onto Sadler Wells theatre. Our waiter was efficient and full of useful info for my forthcoming holiday to Croatia My starter was wood roasted pigeon breast with figs and crispy chickpeas, tender and...More

Such a shame that this place appears to have gone down hill. Food was average, plates grubby. They didn’t bother to light the candles on the table as it got dark. Didn’t bother to show us to our table, just motioned in the general direction....More

Great location just down from Exmouth Market, tasty sardine starters, slightly grumpy service. Loved the stripped down interior though we sat on the street watching the world go by.

Went to Moro with a friend recently, had a starter and main each. Everything was so full of flavour and delicious. Despite being busy we were well looked after by the waistress. Will definitely be going back.

Lovely area with a little village feel. The sardine starter was stunning, lamb so so presentation to be desired, very nice chocolate and apricot tart with cream. Nice quality food. Service really more than average, did not leave much time to pick the wine, forgot...More

My Canadian nephew arrived on my birthday and he and my Oz nephew arraned dinner at Moro. Firstly, I was told it was Moroccan, but it was actually Spanish , so my tastebuds were on the wrong Continent. I didn't have much of an appetite...More

We have eaten here at least 12 times over the last 10 years and the standard has always been excellent. Tonight however, the carrot salad starter was very poor with only small quantities of identifiable carrot in total. My wife ordered turbot as main course...More

This was our fourth visit to Moro over many years. The restaurant was very noisy and busy on the Thursday evening we visited. We started with a pomegranate cava which was dull and indifferent. The starters were good prawn and cuttlefish and gazpacho as were...More

Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site
of an ancient meat market which remains in operation
today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally
renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and
some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a
focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough
time wondering through the area's maze of streets and
you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky
