In Exmouth Market you'll find lot's of restaurants, many of them undoubtedly really good and one of the excellent one's is Moro. Restaurants plain and super simple decor first felt a little un-tempting but that feeling vanished rapidly with the experience of good and attentive service and when the restaurant rapidly filled up with other diners. I am not an... More

Used to eat here regularly on and off when in town, but on our last visit and a mixed tapas everything just felt a little worn and just a bit sad. Regrettably after loyal patronage the place really needs to try harder and work with their staff to keep them happy and create exciting food.

My husband took me here last Friday for a belated birthday lunch. It was amazing. The staff were delightful, the food was exceptional and a little bit different. We tried some of the recommended sherry and wine. We came away feeling the world is a beautiful place. Result! One of the best birthday lunches ever! Thank you Moro x

My niece booked a table here for eight of us for dinner since her mum and stepfather were visiting from abroad. We were seated in a small, slightly separate dining area at the back of the restaurant to the right, which is actually behind Morito, their informal tapas cafe (which I've reviewed previously). This worked well for us, as it... More

This is a wonderful restaurant. The meal was extremely good. A very high standard of cooking. Congratulations to the chefs. Quite the best meal I've had in a restaurant for some time. Excellent wine as well. The staff were great. All in all this is a culinary experience worth paying for. It's not the most inexpensive of places....costs a bit... More

Enjoyed a wonderfully exotic business lunch in this fantastic restaurant in Exmouth Market. Never ate pigeon before but the pigeon salad with hazelnuts was delicious as was the chicken which followed it - wood roasted and cooked with oranges it was accompanied with the most delicious crushed potatoes cooked with spring onions. Service was excellent and attentive without being obtrusive,... More

Moro is an institution - we think the best restaurant in the area. And it is consistently excellent, they never seem to let their standards slip in any way. Innovative, fresh food, freshly cooked, with interesting ideas and flavours. We cannot fault it. Open kitchen at the back, so there is plenty of noise - though this is not a... More

We visited Moro on a Saturday evening and whilst it had a great atmosphere. Whilst it was busy and most tables full, the setup is such that you can still hear yourselves and you're not on top of other diners! The menu was excellent - dishes had a twist but were certainly not style over substance. Lots of interesting sauces... More

I went there with my parents. A bit noisy at first sight, but the food and service are very good I would have appreciated more lamb for the main but that's ok, the desserts are very good Many thanks to the waitress, super nice!

It might be one of the hippest venues in one of the hippest parts of the capital but this Clerkenwell restaurant still manages to be relaxed and more concerned with good food than being trendy. The restaurant’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar and open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven is functional but welcoming. The Moorish cuisine complete with subtle European influence is every bit as striking as it was when the restaurant opened its doors nearly ten years ago. Tapas served all day at the bar. Reservations taken by phone and directly from our website.PLEASE NOTE - Moro restaurant is now open seven days a week. Please refer to our website for correct opening hours

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
