We ordered a Mont Blanc cake for 12 people, we paid 60£. That was a surprise for our friend’s birthday, but it was everything but a good cake and definitely not a Mont Blanc. We wasted money for a cake that didn’t taste at all...More

When a well established Soho haunt (& haunt is the appropriate word) like Maison B is spoken of, one often hears criticisms based on service, with a certain degree nonchalance which undoubtably Maison Bertaux has. You have to know these things before visiting. London's oldest...More

I was with two friends in Soho, both of whom know the city better than I do. They suggested Maison Bertaux for tea. And what a tea it was! There were scones with butter, jam, clotted cream, and on and on, and all fresh and...More

I have been going here for 25 + years... its a tiny part of a diminishing Soho of style and character. It has a small extension by the way of the store next door. Glorious window display with the delights to order.Perfect to drop in...More

I have visited more times than I can remember. It's a place I always worry might have shut down each time I visit, as they have not economised or expanded like the inferior Patisserie Valerie chain. Whereas the original Valerie's nearby can be rude and...More

I love Maison Bertaux but mainly for the atmosphere! The cakes are good but there are better ones at cafes nearby in Old Compton Street and the tea too - so, so. Good coffee though.

The decor is a bit shabby but the staff are friendly and the cakes are wonderful, I recommend the Mont Blanc - meringue with chestnut puree and whipped cream
