Just amazing! It's pricey but it's worth every penny. If Michel is in then he comes and greets all the diners, 2 out of 3 times we have been and he has been there and he is genuinely interested in making sure that you're enjoying the food and you're getting good service. Not a lot of chefs would be that... More

It's hard to describe how fabulous this experience was, and I need to say experience because that is exactly what it is to walk into this fabulous place and experience some the the best food, wine and service you are ever likely to have. The waiting staff have that knack of anticipating your every need just before you decide you... More

Yesterday my wife, sister in law and I visited Le Gavroche for another pre Christmas celebration and once again we had a memorable experience at this wonderful restaurant. We enjoyed a pre lunch drink in the small but intimate bar area and although we had an early lunch booking we were never rushed into anything. As on our previous visits... More

We dined at Le Gavroche on Saturday evening for my husbands birthday - our experience was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we stepped in the front door and had our coats taken and was shown to the bar, we knew we were in for a treat. The customer service from start to finish was exceptional, all members of... More

Visited Le Gavroche last month for my birthday. This is our 5th visit, we always try and come down to celebrate my husband and myself's birthdays and to visit this wonderful restaurant for lunch. The standards have been consistent every time and the food is first class. The staff always make u feel so welcome and comfortable and the Emmanuel... More

Went for business dinner mid week. The bar was cramped and uncomfortable for the eight of us. The service was slow and inefficient. The restaurant is cosy but the tables are very close to each other. In order to get up had to ask somebody to get up and to climb over their chairs. The food was OK but the... More

Best set lunch for quality and value. Last came here for dinner when over in U.K. for the tasting menu and were wowed. Determined to revisit for lunch. As good as ever. Attentive and smiling staff. Minute attention to detail. Wonderful food. Michel visited tables, such a nice gesture. Needless to say the place was full. Three months anticipation for... More

The tasting menu with the matching wines was superb, and the whole dining experience exceeded our very high expectations. The staff were numerous, friendly, courteous, helpful, especially the sommelier who introduced the wines and how they matched the food of each course.

We try to book a lunch at Le Gavroche a couple of times per year but understandably it is a challenge as you can only book three months in advance by phone to the day and the line is only open Tuesday to Friday. There isn't a long wait but even if you call early be prepared to be disappointed... More

We have visited here with friends recently and they agreed it was just the best lunch and experience they have had in London. The lunchtime deal is just fantastic value and the quality of food, wine, service and décor are just superb! We try and visit as often as we can and have NEVER had other than a great time!... More

Description
The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
