i have been for lunch a couple of times recently and unlike French restaurants, we weren't ignored for 20 minutes, but instead the attention was excellent. Eating from the fixed lunch menu at £19.50 gave access to the carpaccio of Tuna which was so good I went back again the next day. Being a warm day the warm salmon followed... More

It was a sunny day and we sat outside which was delightful. The service was friendly and excellent. We had langoustines with delicious mayonnaise and smoked salmon. Then scallops and chicken. It was all super. The Yorkshire beer was a must try and there were some good reasonably priced wines.

Excellent straight forward French food. You could be mistaken for thinking that you are in Paris given the levels of French spoken by staff and customers

We wanted to celebrate a special birthday so we booked a table for nine in the main dinning room . The service was excelant attentive but not over powering. As the birthday. Boy wanted to pay for the food and the rest of us would pay for the wine we started with house shampers which was v good. The menu is... More

This is very French, like a proper brasserie (but at London prices, of course). I found everything competent - the menu, the wine list, the cuisine and the service - and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

If you want traditional French cooking in an attractive bistro environment, this is your place. The menu could have been written in 1955, but French cuisine earned its place as the world's best because of such dishes still featured at Le Colombier! Our most recent visit was on a Sunday evening when many other restaurants are closed, and Le Colombier... More

Traditional and excellent french cuisine. The meat dishes are really excellent from tartare to filet steak. Amazing desserts, too.

It was a last-minute arrangement and we were glad we could get a table on a Friday night. Maybe I was distracted by the unfolding events of the Brexit saga or by the surprising fact that I actually took longer than expected to find the restaurant. Or maybe it was because my dinner partner began talking almost non-stop from the... More

Visited Le Colombier after many years of absence and wondered why I have not been back before. Good service, good food , Nice atmosphere. Understated discreet quality without the show off and useless trendiness. Very elegantly casual dining . All (4) - 3 course - meals served were properly and nicely presented. Great unhurried Saturday lunch . Thak you team... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
