Le Caprice is an unusual L-shaped restaurant. We entered into a tiny reception area and were show past the long bar to our table, which felt somewhat squashed between the wall and the main walkway. The decor is mostly black and white, the lighting quite low and the noise levels rather loud so I did find it difficult communicating with... More

Great location and lots of buzz, but does not quite live up to to expectations for culinary standards. Service is excellent and there is plenty of atmosphere, but it does seem to suffer from its reputation as a "place to see or be seen". Quite a few noisy people who appeared to be there just to be noticed rather than... More

We have dined at Le Caprice several times in the past few months and want to tell others how fantastic this French restaurant is. The food is superb and the service is exceptional. My husband is currently on a special diet which excludes all carbohydrates and the staff were only too willing to accommodate his needs. The steak tartare was... More

Decided to try it on a Friday night when it should, as per normal in the past be rocking, however sadly the usual buzz was missing with many tables empty so turned on our heels and headed round the corner. This sadly bears out the result of our last visit when the service was far from is best. Surely at... More

Went for an early dinner. Beautiful spot, food really good and the service was very friendly-although a bit expensive, I would go again for a special dinner or nice lunch. The menu is great- something for everyone.

Booked a combined lunch/ticket to Vogue exhibition package. It was very well organised and the staff were welcoming and informative. Enjoyed the exhibition and lunch following was excellent. Great value and most enjoyable.

As quite a fussy diner (gluten free, no shellfish) eating out is not always easy, the staff at Le Caprice can not do enough to make the dining experience a real pleasure. The food is superb, the staff excellent. this is the perfect place for a romantic meal or a family celebration. can not rate it highly enough.

Had lunch here for 5 with my family. The restaurant is crowded with tables and the layout of the chairs mean you are obstructing the walkway so constantly interrupted. It took staff a very long time to take our order and the waiter/manager seemed dismissive that we were ordering from the set menu and we had to ask to see... More

A very romantic place, fantastic food, and excellent service. A tiny place so make a reservation or go on an off night. Not suitable for children. No TV at the bar, which adds to the wonderful atmosphere of enjoying your company instead of just stuffing food in. Delicious food. I had the sea bass which was fabulous, and my husband... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
