About
La Trompette opened in 2001 and serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital’s top end establishments. We closed at the beginning of 2013 for a complete refurbishment, and have expanded to include a brand new kitchen, private dining and improved customer facilities. The new appearance has not changed the focus of the restaurant. The aim is as it always has been, to give all our guests the best possible dining experience from start to finish.

Another visit to La Trompette and another near faultless dinner. Things that I really liked: - I had three courses and felt it was just the right amount of food - My starter (salmon) was truly amazing; my main course (pork) was extremely tasty -...My pudding (the chocolate delice) was very nice, just not quite as good as the other two courses - There were lots of things I could have had from the menu - I needed to ask what certain things are (for example, the particular cut of pork that they used), which shows that the menu is not the same samey Modern British cooking that you get at lots of restaurants - I did not wake up this morning with that dry mouth feeling that shows the chef has used too much salt (a real bonus) - The wine list is very eclectic (there are wines from pretty much everywhere, including Canada - who knew?) Things that I didn't like: [ ] (That about sums it up.)More

We have been going to la Trompette for more than 15 years and it has never failed to please. Yesterday we had an outstanding meal. The service, as always, was welcoming and attentive but not over the top. The timing was just right - no...overlong pauses, but a leisurely pace. Starters - a delicious tuna carpaccio, a melt in the mouth foie gras and chicken liver parfait with feather light brioche. Followed by succulent, tender venison accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables for me and a wonderful daube of beef for my husband. I’m not usually a fan of desserts, but the banana soufflé paired with the strongly flavoured passion fruit ice cream was perfection as was my husband’s Christmas pudding with cinnamon ripple ice cream. A fantastic meal.More

This was a really bad experience I am local to the area and have been before, I booked ahead for lunch with a friend We are both elderly women She was unfortunately late but after she arrived we were virtually ignored People who came in...later on the off chance were seated and served first When I questioned this the manager arrived at our table and was demeaning and ageist We left after this as he had made me feel discriminated against as a single older woman This is sad as I will never use this restaurant again and have used it many times inthe pastMore

Visited La Trompette as part of a no-corkage BYO wine deal from my wine merchant. Took the allowed bottle each - one champagne and one red Bordeaux - and settled in for lunch. We started with a Bloody Mary and a couple of oysters; Dorset...rock oysters with tamarillo hot sauce, celery and lime, which were absolutely delicious. We both opted for the starter of Foie gras and chicken liver parfait, Muscat jelly, toasted pistachios and brioche, which was light and creamy, with a generous slice of brioche. The pistachios added texture and the muscat jelly a decadent sweetness. The champagne was an excellent accompaniment. For mains, my wife had Suffolk pork rib eye with pumpkin puree, fondant potato, trompettes, capers, sage and crackling, and I had the Veal rump and glazed cheek with creamed polenta, roasted tomato and gremolata. Two clean plates were delivered back to the kitchen! A lovely combination of flavours and textures. We then opted to share a cheese plate to accompany the last of the red wine, and the cheese choices were excellent. My dessert was malt custard with toasted almond ice cream and cocoa nib bricelet, and it was sublime - a glass of Sauternes was it's natural bedfellow! I greatly enjoyed chatting to Donald, the very engaging and knowledgeable sommelier, and all the waiting staff were efficient, and very pleasant. All in all, a very satisfying and delicious lunch, and a great find. We will certainly return!More

Fantastic evening - friendly staff and great choice on the three course menu; I chose the Pork Chop which was great. The cured Seabass was fresh and the goosebury soufflé was the best we have tasted. Should be on everyone’s to do list.

We simply cannot fault the whole dining experience. We were here for our anniversary meal and from the moment we walked through the door to when we left the entire experience was perfect. The meal was delicious, the wines lovely and the service impeccable. I...love my cheese too and they have a cheese trolley ! So rarely see that anymore... Couldn't recommend enoughMore

Been a couple of times with a friend who doesn't live too far from Chiswick. Lovely ambience, really really good food. They really do listen to feedback! Kern makes sure all his guests are looked after. I'll be honest and admit that the first time...around, I wasnt convinced... second time was a lot better.. no bad dishes, just better choices. -Would definitely go back!More

Ahhh La Trompette, we love you! Returned for the first time in over a year for our wedding anniversary and it was as good as ever! Food, service, wine and cheese all flowed seamlessly as we were immersed in one of my favourite dining experiences....Cannot recommend this highly enough.More

We often meet friends her for dinner. I could say that it's because it's halfway between where we all live, but really it's because we love coming here. The dining room is lovely (a nice size with tables not too close or far away from...each other). The food is excellent and I always umm and err between various dishes on the menu as they all look so tasty I've no doubt we'll return.More

La Trompette is a great restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is usually great. It's not a cheap restaurant but you pay for the quality. £17.50 for a glass of alcohol-free "sparkling wine" and the arrogant sommelier's response to my query really took...the shine off what was otherwise a really nice evening.More

Frankly fish cutlery has become less and less fashionable even in top restaurants....also a good dishwasher does the job. Quality of products, cooking and service is more important.
