I was disappointed to find the Blue Elephant had closed down when I went there recently without booking. However all was not lost as I ate in a Japanese/Korean restaurant a few doors away. Beni Shoga proved to be a great find and I have reviewed it separately on Tripadvisor.

I've been here a few times when in London for business and it's always so, so good. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is out of this world. Service is sometimes a little lacking... not enough to knock a star off but, if they're even slightly busy, you need to wait for drinks and your bill for longer... More

Waited forever to place drink and food order and even longer to receive it. Service staff was " looking" but did not "see". No one took ownership of our table. Other tables were equally frustrated.

Recently we hosted my daughters 21st birthday party here and are very happy with the experience. The service was excellent, the staff attentive to our every need. We were a large group and were seated very comfortably. The decor was beautiful making the experience enjoyable. There was a large array of choice when it came to the food, with options... More

average food in a beautiful decor, disappointed since not only the food was not as good, but the service was "tired", you could see waiters less enthusiastic, more knowledgeable of the ingredients, not worth the visit now.

The food gets a good thumbs up. I ordered a big bottle of water and the lady poured the water then took the bottle away and yes never saw it again real strange Thai custom the buffet was great I would love to come back but your prices and service charges are sky high.

We were a little sceptical to come having read a mixture of reviews online but thought we would try it any way. The location is great with underground car parking facilities and very close to a London overground train station. Upon arrival, you are hit with the beautiful decoration that fills the restaurant and the seating is great. However, there... More

Firstly, the venue itself is amazing, lovely decor and comfortable seating. The food however is probably the worst Thai food I've ever had. We ordered 2x vegetarian tasting menu and also ordered a couple main courses for the table. Apart from the starters, we didn't finish a single dish; not due to us being stuffed but only due to it... I have been to Blue Elephant in its former location in Fulham and was excited to see the new venue in Imperial Wharf. However the atmosphere at this location has lost its vibe in comparison. Visiting on a Tuesday however may have added to the lack of people in the restaurant. The venue has a great view of the river... More

A local landmark on The Boulevard, the Blue Elephant Thai restaurant brings an authentic Royal Thai dining experience to bustling West London. Considered one of the finest Thai restaurants in London, the Blue Elephant serves delicious traditional dishes prepared with ingredients flown in from Thailand on a weekly basis, served up amidst tropical foliage and lush water gardens. Your meal will be presented to you by the friendly, attentive staff in national Thai costume, who will also occasionally entertain diners with traditional Thai dancing displays. A popular spot for couples, who cosy up under the thatched pergolas, the Blue Elephant is renowned for its refined cuisine, which also includes a wide range of vegetarian dishes, an extensive wine list and a Sunday brunch with children's entertainment. Ideal for relaxing with a classic cocktail, the opulent Blue Bar is highlighted by a replica of the Suphannahong - the Royal Barge of Thailand.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
