About
The L`Autre is the oldest wine lodge in the heart of Mayfair, known as Shepherd Market. Originally established in 1942 as a sherry and wine lodge. In 1976 a Polish-French-Canadian proprietor took over the restaurant. He than converted it into a Polish and Mexican eatery with outstanding international wine list, and Polish vodka selection.

My favourite restaurant, this reminds me of my grandma, the polish food is superb , this concept is so amazing as I’m a polish Brazilian the polish Mexican isn’t strange to me, the Mexican food has all the right flavours and the polish food is...proper traditional as you have in the best polish restaurants. I go there at least 3 times a week and Darius, Peter and Marius are like cousins to me. Thanks for the great times we have in your amazing restaurant, by the way the vodka is the best you’ll ever haveMore

Went here on Sunday 5th July, a day after the lockdown lifted for bars/restaurants. SUCH a good choice, my sister and her fiance had wanted to try Polish perogies for ages and they saw this restaurant after wandering around Mayfair. We had such a great...meal...had the charcuterie and cheese platter to share, duck pate for starters too, and then the mixed perogies each which came with beetroot soup and sour cream. We also had the apple pie with vanilla ice cream, and polish cheesecake. Everything was yum! Loved the combination of the perogi dish! Good choice of wine, spirits and beer. We had honey spiced vodka and cherry vodka shots...both SOO good! The gentleman serving us was so lovely, had a chat with him, he told us the history of the restaurant, really interesting! Him and another man (?owner) thanked us for coming, which was really nice. It was great to eat out after the lockdown and we hope others follow suit! We will definitely be back when we are in the area! :-)More

The atmosphere is unique, we were made extremely welcome, we had an excellent bottle of wine and cheese board for starters, followed by first class cooking. Very highly recommended by all of our party.

Other reviewers echo our sentiments, all the dishes were tasty and well presented and prices very reasonable. Plenty of nearby pubs for pre or post dinner drinks. A little cramped for room inside but the ambience is great. How could you possibly go past a...Polish Mexican menu.More
