For a pre - theatre supper Al Duca has a charming staff and a simple menu of tasty food. The staff were very attentive. Very relaxing.

This is a GREAT Italian restaurant in St. James. The service was wonderful! Extremely friendly, very attentive and even entertaining at times (in a good way!). We ordered the burrata appetizer. It was made to order and very very very good. We shared the sirloin steak special and a side of pasta. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned... More

Ate here with my family while visiting London. Good Mayfair location, solid, if a bit limited, menu, and decently priced. The staff is all Italian, at least what I saw, and they know their menu. Excellent, varied wine list. The homemade pasta was excellent, as was the veal Milanese. Service was also very good.

I regularly visit Al Duca once every two or three months when I am in London and it is always nice. As I am not Italian I am not sure but it seems quite traditional but is definitely delicious. Although I don't eat seafood the people I eat there with do and they say it is also fantastic and there... More

A business evening with friends of discriminating taste, we were welcomed with an array of appetizers. Goats cheese, scallops, prosciutto wrapped bread sticks, pasta and more. So enjoyable that dinner was an afterthought Enjoyed sea bass, a bit bland (no heartburn tho) while others enjoyed pasta. Refreshing ending ~ sorbet. The service almost ghostlike...no empty glasses, perfect pacing.

We had lunch here and we had chosen this trattoria just by gut feeling. It was a spot on choice and we enjoyed a really good lunch. Their wine list is very good. The only thing l can critisize is that the bill was on the pricy zone.

We had tickets for a show at one of the Haymarket theatres and wanted a pretheatre meal. Having done my research I booked the Al Duca as their website showed a pre-theatre menu. When we arrived we were shown to our table and were offered just the A La Carte Menu. The staff were not the friendliest and as we... More

Great find, hidden in St. James. Fine wines, great menu. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Some unusual Italian dishes. All four of us walked away very happy.

Run by a great Italian staff, they clearly take pride in both the food and the service. Everything from the bread through to the mains was excellent and it was very reasonably priced given the quality of the dining experience. If in the area, you could certainly do worse.

We had dinner here early to avoid the crowds and get to the theatre just up near Piccadilly. Food was great, service very attentive and quick. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
