Prepared with natural ingredients & lots of care, our concept is simple. We display ten hot dishes, which are inspired from around the globe, together with colourful seasonal salads. Choose a small, medium or large container and our friendly staff team will fill your box to the brim with whatever choice of food you fancy, hey presto! As well as being Vegetarian, most of our food is Vegan. So, if your diet is dairy free you have a great choice at Beatroot. We also cater for wheat-free and gluten-free diets…ask a member of staff for details. We also offer a fab selection of smoothies and juices, which are made to order using the freshest ingredients. Our cakes and flapjacks are all baked by us and we serve great organic, fair-trade coffee, plus teas and herbals.

such a shame it's gone

I went to get a slice of vegan bakewell tart, and it's gone! in fact, what on earth has happened to Berwick market and the quirky little shops around there? I hope beatroot pops up somewhere else soon - but preferably not as a 'pop up'.

I've been to Beatroot many times but now report they closed forever in April 2015, which is so sad for vegetarians. Unfortunately they have been hit by the continuing changes that are happening in London with rising rents and re-development.

Small, vegetarian café in the heart of Berwick Street Market which has been hit hard by all the rennovations going on for awhile now. Tasty and filling food and excellent smoothies. Sadly closing permanently on Saturday, 25 April 2015. Will be missed.

Beatroot was recommended and this was a quick visit before travelling to the airport. Had no time for overpriced tourist traps nearby and they did not disappoint. Snappy service, friendly staff, dinner and dessert for less than a tenner. A good selection of fresh food was on display, and portion sizes are generous. Wont be the last time I visit.

beatroot is basically a teakaway buffet which is served by the staff - select a box size (small, medium, large) and pick what you want - there are cold dishes and warm. I got a medium box and asked for everything warm and vegan, this cost £8 in March 2015 I think. At first I wasnt sure if the medium... More

This is a small, respectable back street veggie cafe in a slightly scruffy row of shops near some sleazy bits of Soho - there is a fruit and veg market outside and some sort of street improvements going on nearby, and it had atmosphere. There are several small quite upmarket fabric shops in the area. The food was home cooked... More

The already prepared food is put into a container which the servers do for you. They do like putting lots in so don't worry about portion size but for the sake of £1, go large! The service was ok, nice enough staff but there isn't much seating space. Biggest gripe are the containers - not very environmentally friendly and the... More

I've been to Beatroot many times and once again it hit the mark. Yummy lentil cottage-pie type main dish with tasty roast veg and broccoli. Also on offer from the hot counter were lasagna, curry, gratin... with sides of brown rice, sesame veg and the gorgeous sausage rolls (sadly not an option for me since going gluten free!) Sad to... I've visited Beatroot many times but I think today's food was the best. Lovely potatoes with cheese sauce, roast vegetables and veggie 'sausage' style rolls. They always have a good range of food to choose from so you can mix and match your meal, which is great. Great hot chocolate too. My daughter who's vegan found some tasty food as... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
