We love this place, great if you're English, Italian, or from Mars. Really top quality pizza, pastry, and coffee. It isn't the fastest service but mainly because it can get busy and the staff care about the products they serve above anything else.

Problem is, if you ever come here for a coffee you'll be sorely disappointed anywhere else in the UK Pure Italy at its best Panninis and pizza to die for Freshly squeezed juices are perfect My solace in a busy soho

The espresso was great, the best I had in London. We also had two of the paninis, that were very good. But the service was definitely lacking. It seemed like they couldn't be bothered with us. Bottom line come for the food and coffee, but don't expect top notch service.

One of London's most iconic bars around for over 60 years & I've been coming to Bar Italia for over 30 years ... It's been here for me with celebrations, after dinner coffee, dates & hangovers ... It's consistently retro & has the best coffee & service in London Town ... Come to Soho & watch the world go by... More

Have always loved this place from my Mod days in the 80s to now. Great for a drink or to catch a coffee. Lovely pastries. Always a must go to after a night out in London-post theatre, gig, etc. Love the waiters in their uniforms. Brilliant for people watching in Soho.

When I'm in London, this is always my first stop in the morning. Great espresso and its varieties and nice menu of food and snacks. The sidewalk tables are often full, but worth trying for to enjoy your coffee and watch the passing activity in the neighborhood. Waiter service is available at the tables, or you can walk in and... Service and food are not a good quality compared to many places in SOHO. It is very expensive and I don't see any good reason to justify it.

I really enjoyed stopping at Bar Italia for a post dinner macchiato and Fernet Branca during my recent stay in Soho. Their paninis were also good, and the staff was always friendly to me.

I am a regular visitor to the bar as I work nearby and they do good although expensive, coffee. They are now getting complacent: their coffee is not as good as it was and for £2.30, it needs to be excellent. Also, they have a nasty habit of charging people to come in and watch the Italian teams football matches.... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
