Authentic slice of Italy in a great part of London. Service slick, coffee great, don't bother with the Nero across the road.

A quick expresso before shopping is always welcome. This place is a great place for coffee as everyone knows it and it's a meeting place for all types of people. The coffees good and the staff excellent. There's always a good mix of people there and if the Bar Italia Scooter club is having one of its regular meets there'll... More

Genuine Italian bar. Great for aperitif like vermouth and spritz. Best coffee in London. The cakes and sandwiches are also nice. The service is also good. It's a very charismatic place.

Bar Italia is depth into the 1960s, with only very simple but very well made sandwiches and Italian lagers. The staff first sound like they're in a Scorsese movie to a foreigner. There are very old pictures of the bar's glorious past which is weirdly still standing in today's London. I hope it will still be here in 50 more... More

Beautiful, unreconstructed Italian coffee shop in the heart of Soho. The interior is an amazing amalgam of original Art Deco coffee shop style, Boxing & Italian memorabilia and Black & White signed photographic celebrity endorsements. They were playing some great jump / jive / swing music. A wide range of cakes and pastries, and a menu of hot food… and... More

The place is an institution, it is a charming Italian hub but that's it. You go there just for the experience NOT for the overpriced coffee. London is well known for the rubbish coffee anyway but this place is far below the average. Unfortunately, too touristy to the point that they even have merchandise of the place!

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
