The place is an institution, it is a charming Italian hub but that's it. You go there just for the experience NOT for the overpriced coffee. London is well known for the rubbish coffee anyway but this place is far below the average. Unfortunately, too touristy to the point that they even have merchandise of the place!

Best coffee in Soho.... For me I like to walk from whatever Soho restaurant I'm in and take after lunch/dinner coffee at Bar Italia....great coffee, theatrical staff when it's busy and superb buzz late at night. You must visit! ☕️🍮

Bar Italia is my most favourite place to visit in London.. It is an authentic Italian coffee bar which serves a small Italian menu and provides outstanding customer service.. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The decor itself is authentic and is full of history in itself which adds so much to the natural Italian feel the bar has.. It... More

Overpriced (extremely) rude staff and run down venue. This is somewhere to avoid as there are so many venues in the area that would give you a better coffee and service.

Well you have to have a coffee here if you are visiting London, just to soak up the Italian atmosphere. Open 22 hours a day, and frequented by the famous, it is a Soho institution. Always worth dropping in when nearby in Shaftesbury Avenue, or Chinatown.

Ok it was a quick dash in here for a cappuccino (caffeine fix). Service was fast and friendly, I like to sit at along side with the mirror, the stools give a chance to watch the busy place work, and a snarky peek at the other clients socialising. Great deeply flavoured coffee with frothy milk not boiled to death. Always... More

I have been visiting Bar Italia for over 20 years. Sadly service is not what it used to be. In the last 5 visits I have been overcharged or given the wrong change. Service is very poor and there seems a high turnover of staff. Staff training needs to be improved!

We love this place, great if you're English, Italian, or from Mars. Really top quality pizza, pastry, and coffee. It isn't the fastest service but mainly because it can get busy and the staff care about the products they serve above anything else.

Thank Harriot S

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
