What a gorgeous venue. Love these old banking halls. Make way better bars and restaurants!! Had a great duck chilli salad which was the perfect size for a hot day in the city. Have been a few times and definitely would return.

Ducked into 1 Lombard Street for drinks after work on a Thursday night. There was plenty of room at the bar, and for once, I was at a bar where there was enough spacing between patrons that you could have a real conversations. I love...More

I had the pleasure of eating dinner here with a group of colleagues. We shared an excellent set of appetizers. The choice was difficult because they all sounded good. I then had an excellent dinner, scallops. The service was excellent. I'd definitely visit 1 Lombard...More

Had a business lunch here. I like the vibe, buzzy and brisk. Two of us had the sea bream which was nicely cooked, although my male colleague felt the portion was small. The Chablis was light and fresh. The service was attentive without being OTT....More

Had dinner here last night for a birthday treat, service was good if a little OTT, starters were good, not great, main courses, scallops were nice, but the lamb cutlets were poor, bland and very chewy, the Greek salad that came with it was not...More

The food was excellent, staff overall quite friendly although some seemed to consider guests, who booked special deals for the restaurant, to be guests second class... too bad they misjudged us and missed out on the change to make some extra money...More

As you would expect, the food was great, wine was just as complimentary and the table service is hard to beat. However, for the 2nd time running there is never enough bar staff to provide a relatively quick response to customers standing at the bar...More

1 Lombard Street is not only the Square Mile's most established restaurant but arguably it's best placed, sited in pole position next to Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London, and directly opposite the Bank of England.Housed in a former Grade II-listed bank, it was opened in 1998 by former banker Soren Jessen and comprises a restaurant, Brasserie, private dining and events rooms.Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, five days a week, the bustling 200 seater Brasserie is suited to all tastes, budgets and occasions.Casually elegant, warm and inviting, it features the building's stunning glass cupola – a centrepiece dome designed by Italian architect Pietro Agostini. The food here is comforting and classic - the lamb cutlets and salt and pepper squid are genuine City favourites. There's a formidable choice of steaks and many delicious desserts, including chocolate fondant with soft pistachio ice cream and passion fruit creme brulee. 1 Lombard Street is where the City meets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, launches new businesses, signs deals and celebrates profits. And it's even where the City gets married.
