Turned up late after a long day working locally and the restaurant was very busy. Despite that the staff organised us a lovely quiet table (this place is buzzing) and got us seated quickly.
The pasta we ordered was excellent but pricey (this place describes itself as for the well heeled) to be fair we should have noticed the chauffeurs lined up outside in the Range Rovers...
I had carbonara (possible the best I've ever had) and a colleague had the ravioli. All in all I'd say it's just about worth it money wise if you don't do as we do and turn up late and tired, instead savouring your time here.

From the beginning, on entering this restaurant & considering the calibre of the place, we stood waiting-not for long, but long enough-for someone to greet us.
It was busy & bustling with very efficient waiters, that sat us down & we perused a beautiful menu. The prices are top end. We knew we’d be spending some money. Our wine buff friend was happy with the menu, but again, high end.
So we chose, we got looked after, we were amazed & then the second hiccup. A long delay for a main to come out. Irritating in any restaurant, but unforgivable at this level of dining.
The kitchen closed at 3 & from then on we were virtually abandoned. The service when it came, was surly. A shame. And at £350 a head, I would have expected better.

Booked this for a pre-theatre meal. Italian food is one of our favourites.
When we arrived, initially I was pleased that we went out to the patio but being surrounded by 1980s plastic flowers seemed a bit of a let down.
Our first courses were good: artichoke and courgette flowers but the main courses were very disappointing. I decided to treat myself to the lobster linguine £46 but alas the lobster was overcooked so it was very chewy. The sauce appeared to be non existent and a few chopped tomatoes thrown in as an afterthought. My husband had a pasta dish with goats' cheese and he was not impressed.
Poor value for money and left feeling most unimpressed. Thankfully the show at the theatre was good.

I would say that this was probably my least favorite experience, although the food was ok. When you are spending X amount of money (our bill came to £350 - 2 adults and 3 year old), you expect a certain level of professionalism. If you go to any restaurant, no matter what level, you expect the staff to have some level of knowledge and training. The setting is beautiful, we sat in the garden, but the staff lack the most basic training. I felt like the staff were volunteers for the evening! The staff consisted mostly of young adults who truly didn't know what they were doing, and did a lot of standing around. Fast food restaurants have better-trained staff and are more knowledgable and attentive. The most memorable moment was when we ordered 2 Dover soles, one of our favorites, and we asked for a Meurniere sauce, which is a classic sauce that is usually served with the sole. For £65 each, it's the least you can expect, and our server didn't know what it was. I don't blame her for not knowing, but I blame the chef for not knowing! Our server first asked what it is and then said they can't do that. I insisted, and she went to the kitchen 2 times to ask the chef if they can do the Meuniere sauce for us. They refused and said that they can't do it. I was shocked, considering all it is is browned butter and lemon juice! After the second time, I insisted again saying again that it is basically melted butter with lemon juice, and I finally said "please just bring me melted butter and a lemon and I can do it myself". We finally received our ingredients and I mixed the butter with lemon on the table and we finally had our sauce. It ruined the entire experience and I just wanted to leave at that point. It shouldn't be this hard in any restaurant to receive basic service. Our plates weren't cleared (needed space for my daughter's coloring books) we had to keep asking them to clear our table, we had to keep calling them to order more drinks, and had to ask for cutlery (wasn't replaced after our starters) and found the entire experience just hard work.
I will not go there again nor will I ever recommend it. It is a shame because it has a great reputation and history, which is being ruined by the extremely unprofessional and poorly trained staff.

The food tasted good, the service was reasonable though not particularly friendly, the ambience was pleasant but the prices did not justify the quality.
£9 for a small bottle of Peroni, £6.50 for a bottle of sparkling water, £50 for a steak with 3 little tomatoes and no other vegetables but you can have mashed potato for a further £9.
On top of that a £1.50 cover charge per person, which doesn't even include a bread roll and 13.5% service charge.
As for wine a very ordinary bottle of Pinot Nero will set you back £71.
It worked out at over £130 per person and only one person had a dessert.
I think this restaurant has just lost the plot in terms of pricing when compared to other Italian restaurants in London which is a pity because otherwise I would be happy to visit it again.

Shockingly expensive for mostly poor food.Crab salad over seasoned ( in fairness without asking they removed from bill) Calamari totally overcooked. Carpaccio very nice. Decor lovely. Full of expensive account city boys/ lawyer types. Be brave boys take your clients to Zizzi in Cardinal Place. At least half the cost and twice the quality. It’s a chain restaurant and your clients will be impressed by your choice.
I hate giving poor reviews but seriously at these prices it is irritating. I actually don’t mind paying for high quality at all but do object to seriously high priced for poor quality. May I was unlucky but reading other reviews I think not.

From our arrival at Santini everything was slapdash. The table we had reserved was not available. The maitre d left us standing around without taking us to our table whilst she went off to do something.
The place was absolutely freezing because the terrace door was kept open and most of the diners inside were wearing their coats for the duration of their meal.
Then the service was so poor and clumsy that most of the food arrived having slipped to one side of the plate.
The food itself was very basic. Tiny portions of extremely overpriced food that did not include any side dishes.
We had no desire to try a desert so left hungry and frozen.
The only redeeming feature is the beautiful terrace outside (where people appeared warm under the heaters) and lovely Christmas decorations.

I used to love this restaurant, however, they increased their price so much that it became prohibitive and frankly unacceptable. I will never go there again, the quality of food does not deserve the prices they charge. Please check the menu before booking. In addition their wine list is insultingly expensive.

Lovely experience, we are outside in a beautifully lit courtyard garden, with tons of atmosphere. The food was excellent as was the service. When we asked for help with the veggie options it was given without question. If you eat in a restaurant like this you expect it to be expensive and it is, but it’s not somewhere you eat everyday. We loved it

We stayed across the street from this place so thought we would try it as a special last night in London dinner. We ordered the £46 prawn risotto which tasted like it came from a can. I have never been so disappointed in a meal. The ravioli was very good but not great and the cheese cake at £19 was no better than store bought. Would never return. The place was beautiful but the food is less than average.

I wanted to like this place more. Looked so nice from the outside we made a reservation on a recent girls’ trip.
I know London is expensive. But this was…something else. I had the crab pasta and one drink - and while it was very good with the exchange, tax, tip and a bread basket it came to… $170 Canadian. Shame on me for not realizing that the bread basket was 9 pounds. My friend’s scallop main course was approximately $80 Canadian. A peek at the wine list showed an Italian favourite at double the price what we’d pay in Quebec. Service was…interesting. Caught the staff rolling their eyes at some of the customers and could hear them gossiping.
On the whole, not a fine dining experience for exorbitant prices….

We had reservations for dinner at another restaurant in London that emailed me about 3 hours before our appointed reservation time and told me they had to close due to staffing shortages due to Covid. I quickly asked the Concierge at The Rubens Hotel about a good Italian Restaurant and he suggested Santini...He was absolutely correct!..the ambiance is beautiful and we sat at a very comfortable semi-banquette. The charcuterie and bread service was divine. I had the pumpkin ravioli that was outstanding, Our service was excellent. I highly recommend this lovely place for dinner.

This is a fantastic spot for lunch or dinner. I have lunch with a friend and we whiled away three hours here. They drinks selection is perfectly adequate, and the quality of the food is second to none. The gnocchi was out of this world. The terrace is large and spacious, and remarkably quiet for the location. Staff were very attentive with the awning, so not even a short spell of showers could spoil a perfect afternoon. Highly recommended.

£62 for one main course, one glass of wine and olives. Plus £7 for service and £3.00 for a “temperature check” even though nobody is doing this anymore. This restaurant must make lots of money with regular and passing wealthy clientele. Is it really necessary to charge such extortionate prices?

The staff are rude and the service is poor, considering this is meant to be a ‘fancy’ restaurant. The food is poor and not worth the price. To top it off, they charged £1.50 for a temperature check on entry, and then added this to the bill. In my opinion this stop short of a cheeky money making scam.
