About
The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton opened in February 2014 as the third restaurant operated by The Clink Charity in the UK and offers up to 30 prisoners full-time work within the restaurant and kitchen. Prisoners train towards gaining nationally recognised City & Guilds NVQs before returning to their cells at the end of the working day. Upon their release, The Clink Charity helps graduates find employment within the catering and hospitality industry. The restaurant is a flagship example of a unique charitable project that is committed to reducing reoffending rates, in partnership with HMPS. The restaurant positively promotes the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners and also champions the wealth of quality, fresh and organic produce available throughout the UK with many vegetables and herbs being sourced from the prison gardens. The restaurant is located in the former Governor's house built in 1819, the 120-cover restaurant is available for exclusive hire. Breakfast is served from Monday to Friday between 8:15am and 10:30am, and lunch is served from Monday to Friday between 12pm and 3pm. This must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Available for exclusive hire, The Clink Restaurant boasts 5 private dining rooms that offers projector and AV facilities making it perfect for meetings, conferences and presentations.

I was at the Clink for a board dinner. The restaurant itself is very smart and well kept and we had the highest quality food with very generous portions. They source superb ingredients. Service was warm and enthusiastic. Highly recommend - very good value.

We don't normally do 'lunch' but yesterday we thought we'd try something different. Inevitably, there's a bit of security involved but Sunday lunch in HMP Brixton is a must for those with a curious or quirky persuasion. The Clink is a charitable organisation that was...More

We had an excellent work Christmas dinner at Brixton's Clink. The experience was great - putting mobiles, wallets etc in a locker, then being escorted through the big gates, searched, then led into the restaurant. The food was first rate, with thought being paid to...More

Visited this place back in August, have to say it is very unique. We didn’t know what to expect from a prison, but it is great to see that inmates are being taught hospitality skills. The food was lovely and each course had great depth...More

It depends which restaurant you book. Some are inside the prison and therefore require a security check. For this reason the age is 18+. For the others that are outside the prison under 18s are allowed. Taken from the... More

Apologies for the delay in replying. I think you could arrive early but you'll be held in the waiting area as everyone is escorted inside the prison as a group. Same applies when you want to leave, there has to be a group... More
