Booked a meal ahead of visiting Royal Albert Hall. Wanted to avoid high street chains and found this delightful Restaurant.
All courses have great choices, we had 3 courses and all were cooked and presented to a great standard .
Attentive and genuine service throughout . Was in the restaurant for about 1hr 15 minutes and must have seen 8 groups turned away as they hadn't booked and the restaurant was full. Was a Saturday night so definitely worth seeing if you need to book.
Will definitely try and get back !

Dropped in as close to our hotel and the reviews were good. Completely unpretentious place at really reasonable prices for the area, serving authentic Italian cuisine and one of the best pizzas ever had (including 10 plus years living in Italy).
We both had the special as a starter which was a Sicilian salad (warm, soft potatoes and green beans with red onion and olives). I had the award-winning Di Bosco pizza with truffle cream, mushrooms and Parma ham and my partner had the Napoli pizza. Extra anchovies were added to the Napoli after my partner expressed how much he liked them. Cooked to perfection in wood-fired oven with that amazing crust. Perfection. Grappa was really good (the stuff that doesn't burn your throat) and we were offered 1 on the house as well. Service throughout was fantastic. If you want to eat like an Italian then I would thoroughly recommend.

We visited on a Saturday evening and were glad we booked. At 7:30 it was very busy. The food was excellent. I would recommend the mussels as a starter. We all had pizza and they were big (Roman style rather than Neapolitan I think). The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The bill for four of us all having starters, main courses and a shared dessert along with drinks came to £150 with the service charge which was pretty reasonable for London.

I chose this restaurant based on all of the wonderful reviews. I might have expected too much from it. We had a reservation and were seated at a table for two in the middle of the restaurant. The waiter kept bumping into our chairs when going by so when the table next to us vacated shortly after we sat down, we asked if we could move over and were told that it was reserved. We hadn't even gotten drinks yet and we had made a reservation, but OK. Then three other parties of two came in were were seated at the tables against the wall. None of them had a reservation. The food was okay. They didn't have any prawns or clams which we weren't told until I tried to order them for dinner. These pasta dishes were on the regular menu. They brought olives as an apology. I don't even know if they had specials. I ended up ordering a veal dish which was a bit bland. The best part of the meal were the appetizers, a caprese and fried calamari. I usually fall in love with these neighborhood Italian restaurants and their rustic coziness, but not this one, I'm sorry to say.

What a shame! This used to be one of our favourite places in London, with attentive service, great food and a lovely atmosphere. Last night we went and it was a real disappointment. The food is still good but the service was poor. The waiter could not have been less interested. We waited for ages when we finished for the plates to be cleared, couldn’t get his attention to order dessert and coffee and were basically ignored all night whilst the waiter talked to his friends on the next table. And they got the main order wrong. Don’t usually complain about iffy service, but this place used to be so special so it just feels a real shame

Hi, I am sorry you feel like that.
I am happy you liked the food, some time our best it is not enough. I have passed many time to your table, to check if everything was fine.
One of the pizzas arrived 2 minutes afterwards because there was a mix up in the kitchen I apologies for the extra 2 minutes waiting.
We do not rush people out, that is why unless the plates are empty we do not take them from the table until a check beck or a they are discarded.
I have offered the menus for the dessert after i cleaned your table.
After that you ask the waiter the bill and paid.
I feel bad you feel in this way, but waiters and waitresses were around and attentive.
I try to pay attention to all the tables, and have a chat with everyone when I can, I try my best. In the meantime Like to point out I am not the waiter, I am the manager, that like to take orders and talk to people.
I am sorry again you left uhappy, I really am.
I hope to see you back again soon.

The staff was very inviting, coming out to invite me in which was nice. That is where the good service stops. I was not offered water. No bread while waiting for entree. My entree was 3 thick pieces of pasta filled with mushroom paste for 19 pounds or $24. The sauce tasted of “Better Than Bouillon”. The added gratuity of 12.5 % was not appreciated. This is a skip.

Hi Diana,
as per a previous ''suspicious'' review we are very honoured you opened an account to give a bad review.
I was there yesterday when you came in, alone.
I have been warned of a ''difficult'' customer at the table. We tried our best, and we came to the table for our double checks without being invasive. As per our usual.
We have the bread in the starters section. It is home made focaccia bread we cannot afford to give free samples to everyone . When you decided not to take a Starter when asked we do not try to sell you one ''at all costs'' considering our kitchen it is pretty fast so you don't have to wait that long.
Those ''three'' pieces of pasta you received are Homemade ravioli with wild mushrooms and Truffle cream, about 70gr EACH.
When my assistant asked you how everything was you said everything was fine, you cleaned the plate.
When our waitress took the payment and asked you how the meal was you then stated, was not ok, when she asked why you said, I will let you know on a review.
We keep going with our fresh ingredients and our homemade recipes against all odds and against whomever keep sending friends to write bad reviews. Or people that expect discounts because is raining outside.
This is an independent restaurant fighting against chains that lost the touch with what this business is all about, against people that can't boil an egg and have no guts to say ''I am sorry I don't like this'', which it is aloud and completely understandable, then leave and give bad reviews.
Lastly,
This is London, 12.5% service charge is everywhere there's a service. And as written in the receipt you have '' It is discretionary''.
Regards
Nick

I have eaten at so many stunning restaurants but have never been driven to leave a review before. I guess when you are paying top dollar you expect absolutely exquisite excellence you could never expect to replicate in your own home EVER. But this place is so small and unassuming. You would never expect to have such exceptional food served here... Better than any meal you've had before. But it was absolutely delicious. You know when you eat the food and it is so tasty that you think if you died here and now it would be worth it to experience this luxury of sensations? Well... this was it. Absolutely perfection. I am so grateful to the chef and the staff for giving me such an incredible experience in this place. I had the ravioli, followed by the cheesecake, and I would deffo recommend. I expected nothing. I got an amazing experience, thank you so much you guys for providing it to me x

Ate here on our last day in London. A great restaurant with fabulous and generous food.
The specialty bread and olives to start were full of flavour and so was my risotto. Sad I couldn’t eat it all as there was so much of it.
Lovely to have complimentary limoncello at the end of the meal.
The decor is very sparse here (just like many family restaurants in Italy), but you get really good food at a good price.
Would recommend.

We visited around 7pm on Friday evening on the off chance that they would have table available, thankfully that was the case. All of us ordered pizza, me and the wife both ordered the Pizza Di Bosco and it was probably the best pizza either of us had ever had. A truly great pizza. Both kids ate all of their pizza, which is unheard of with them and tells the story. The atmosphere was so friendly, warm and relaxing, after a long day doing tourist things and shopping at Harrods, this was the perfect place to unwind. Can't recommend highly enough

I live in the area and felt like a pizza somewhere I hadn’t been before. I don’t know how this joint has achieved these reviews. The staff are sullen and surly. The pizza was mediocre and my overall bill (including two glasses of wine and a coffee) came to just under £40. If you want somewhere cheaper and better go to nearby Franco Manca. If you want to go somewhere much better and a bit more expensive head to Cinquecento on Chelsea Green. Avoid here at all costs.

Hi NYorkmoors,
I am sorry you didn't enjoy your time here.
If you like the Pizza at Franco Manca I understand you wont probably like ours. They are two completely different things, we do a traditional Italian Pizza on a Traditional wood fire Oven.
As per the Staff I can only apologize you felt we were sullen and surly, that is surely not our usual business card as you can see from the previous reviews,
Regarding the price I cannot comment because I don't know which pizza you chose or which wine.
Our pizza goes from 9.95 for a large Margherita to 19.95 with wild mushrooms, truffle cream, Parma ham and stracciatella di bufala.
Our wines by the glass go from 5.70 to 7.75 for a Chianti Classico D.O.C.
I hope you pop in again and try something else. We have meat, fish and fresh pasta too.
Regards
Nick

The friendly, helpful and professional staff ensured that we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening - thank you Pappa Roma!

This place is a real find. Pappa Roma oozes that ‘homely’ feel and has tons of charm. The service is warm and welcoming and Nick in particular was attentive without being intrusive.
I have eaten in here a number of times and have never been disappointed. Pizzas are fresh and delicious as is the wine selection.
Do yourself a big favour if you are in the area and visit. You’ll be so glad you took a chance on the place with plenty of heart and soul.

Amazing Italian food, both me and my partner was blown away by our food. We ordered a Sicilia and an Italiana pizza, portion size was well worth the value and they tasted amazing. The service was extremely friendly. We was spoken to by multiple members of staff, one of which made us feel very comfortable by making chat. He explained the menu to us and explained the specials that wasn't on there. Ended up getting some desert too. They explained that they make the soufflés from scratch so would be a longer wait but this wasn't an issue. 10-15 minutes later both desserts arrived and again we were not disappointed. The restaurant was spaced out well and wasn't too busy either (we went at half 2). It also helps that it was not far from Kensington Town Station

What an amazing find after a trip to the museum! The food was incredible and is on par with pizza that we have had in Italy. The best gnocchi I have ever had. The menu was full of delicious options. The pizza my wife and son had was impressively presented and the children's menu was exactly what you want at a restaurant with fresh ingredients and options that are full of flavors. The staff were brilliant, very informative, friendly and with that the restaurant had a lovely, family, wholesome atmosphere.

Absolutely superb and highly recommended. Fresh home cooked food, homemade pasta and desserts. Delicious. The owner clearly cares about everything he serves and when asked about the wine list said he chose them himself - if not to our liking he would be happy to change. But that wasn’t necessary because the wine was excellent too.
The spread of Prezzo, Ask, Zizzis has forced local Italian restaurants out of business. That is so sad so please support fantastic places like this.
We will be back.
