We'd eaten in this restaurant a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it but this time we were disapointed. The restaurant is scruffy in terms of decor and furnishings and was more like a cafe or canteen than a restaurant. I had hot and...More

Fantastic dim sum, recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. We will be back soon. The roast duck coming out to the locals also looked amazing, that will be next for us!! Don’t quite understand some of the negative reviews, it’s not a tourist...More

I would give this place a rating of 0/5 if I could. The service was horrible! I was led to a dark basement area to sit at a table for four, even though there were tables available for two upstairs. My server was so rude...More

The crispy duck was very crispy (but also a bit dry). The chicken dish we had tasted of nothing. No flavour or seasoning. The egg fried rice was quite greasy. The lamb satay wasn't lamb at all but actually some beef dish! Disastrous meal. Never...More

Accompanied my partner who was ‘under orders’ to get take-away from this small but very popular restaurant. Certainly we did not have to wait long and I am told the food was worth waiting for the journey home!

We started with 4 dim sum, the shrimp and chives was superb. Then we had 3 vegetables in garlic sauce, spinach, bokchoy and Chinese broccoli, that was also superb. Then peiking duck which was delicious. The servings were plentiful.

We like to try the different restaurants in china town and most places here the staff aren't very friendly, this one included, however they aren't the worst. You do get the feeling they want you out the restaurant as quickly as possible. However the pricing...More

Group of 6. Didn't feel welcome. Some had to wait way too long for their food. Waitress's answers were borderline condecending/rude. Indecipherable, handscribbled bill. Waitress decided to "help" us with the bill, and we've never been more confused in our lives. The food was nice...More

I visited here today as we had a craving for some crispy duck. That was pretty decent in fairness, no better/worse than I’ve had elsewhere. Our mains weren’t great and special fried rice was fine. What I couldn’t get over was the service. It was...More

Been there last time on Sunday. It's already open at 12 noon. So I imagine it starts open from 11am just like other restaurants in the area.

Oversea is a traditional Cantonese restaurant on Gerrard Street specialising in duck and dim sum. The window is always full of ducks roasted in the traditional Cantonese way - marinated and air dried to achieve that trademark crispy texture. During the day the restaurant serves a wide selection of dim sum.
